It’s not just the boys of Boy Better Know who repp the grimy endz of North London. Got this mixtape from Dimples of G-Fam in my mail last week, a happy surprise among all the commercial and bills. Anyhoe, it’s called “"The last Laugh" Vol. 2 and in fact, it was a really good surprise indeed.
G-fam consists of guys like Dimples, Sicx, Styler, Ruckspin, Y3low and lots of more. "the Last Laugh" has 24 tracks, and I like the fact that it brings a more intelligent and serious side of grime than what I’m used to. I luv the track Disc Jockey, a song dedicated to all them DJ’s just playing their friends with lyrics like "Some DJ’s know me, some big DJ’s don’t know shit". Change the word DJ’s to Mags and I could have been written that line myself. I hate the stats of media today when you just have to have the right links to get jobs, not the skillz. Nomoneynonothing-people do jobs they don’t cope with, so if u want a skilled hot girl in ur staff u mag/media boss, HOLLA!
Another track I feel is the remix of Gangsta’s when Dimples freestyles over the JME beat (JME won a special prize on BBC 1xtras show yesterday, for his innovation of grime, he deserves it), one of the best productions of 2006, also This Ain’t Just Music featuring Styler, Frisco, Sicx, Wretch 32 (who won the award MOST STREET HEAT of 2006 on 1xtra tonight), Impulse, Scorcher, A.Vec and Cel 22. Nyce catchy vocal. Speaking of Cel 22, I’m looking forward to the release of his mixtape that will drop soon, looks like it gonna be big.
One mixtape I’ve listen to a lot this year according to lastfm is Ribz "Still Trying 2 Make Money Legally". G-Fam features on it and Ribz features also on one of the Dimples tracks called Ribz & Dimples, good good good.
My absolute fave of "The Last Laugh" is Damned If We Blow with Impluse. I can’t get it out of my head, sounds like a hit.
Other G-Fam mixtapes to look out for:
Styler – Styler’s Got The Style
Sicx – Keep Up With Me
Rinser – Attack On The Nerd
Keep It Durrty
When Titch’s behind bars instead of spitting them it’s good that Durry Goodz is back, his new EP "Axiom" will be out soon. As a teaser u can download the "More Street Than The A-Z" with One Samuraj and "Durrty Whirl Mix", now added with these bonus tracks: Cant Hold Me Down Gangsters Destruction VIP
Here's my year-end wrap up, made up of the various that I feel are worth mentioning.
Banger: Wiley. I don’t even need to explain this one. Thankfully the "Tunnel vision" series make up for some of it.
Biggest Laugh: Petter! The whitest nigger in Sweden did a hit called Det Går Bra Nu. Released his own clock- and sneaker line. Some ugli shit. Even the Norwegian painters my father works with jokes about P. And then we have the beef between him and Max P and Basutbudet who got quiet down during the Wolrd Cup-party in Gothenburg this summer. Another thing overcast it, the drug scandal of the badmanner high jumper Patric Sjöberg. Sorry P, didn’t score the tabloids with that one. Team up with another splendid Swedish rapper called Mange Schmidt will ya?
Colour: Purple. First I was sceptical, I repped the purp so much when I was 12 I grew dead tired of it, but now, 50% of my wardrobe is purple. And of course, you won’t forget the song by NUMP I Gott Grapes nor The Purple Ribbon Allstars - What’s That Smell.
Comeback: J.T. EVERYONE made their own remix of Justin and T.I.s hit My Love. It’s was my main tune for July and J-T’s new album was quite good. Now loose Diaz, she’s old.
Dance: The Wu Tang. U CAN'T WU TANG BETTER THAN ME!
Top Ten Songs I danced 2: Trilladelphians - Wu Thang Theme Bamabounce - Wu tang Slide Kelis ft. Too Short -Bossy (Sebastian Remix) Jamilia - Something About You (Mr Oizo Remix) Lady Sovereign - Chi Ching (Spank Rock Remix) Dem Franchize Boys/Rhianna - Lean With S.O.S (DJ Clinton Blend) Dj Webstar ft. Young B, Trina - Chicken Noodle Soup (Remix) Too Short ft. The Pack - Booty Bounce Boppers Lil Boosie - Do The Ratchet JME ft. Plastician - Shut Up And Dance
Dissapointment: The Grime Bash in Gothenburg this summer and The Sound of London-thingee the 16th of December. Could have been wicked but was mostly Zzz.
Best Afterparty: I can’t choose, the most memorable was either the one with me, Dani, Stefan and Davve + Absinthe, Street Fighter II, crazy dancing, and going bananz and I was tossed around the room or the one with me, Tintin, Jammer, Tempz and a little young DJ I always forgot the name of. The latter was strange, perhaps by the fact that I can’t remember anything by all that Hennesay I drank. I got semi raped by a former male friend that night also. And my digicam was stolen by a deaf fat chick.
Best Exercise: I miss horse back riding but i can't afford a pony so 2006 was the year of dancing and walking.
Top Ten Walking To Uni songs: Wiley ft. Rage, Esco, Jammer, Scorcher, Godsgift - 16 bar Rally Neckle Camp - Ice Rink 2006 Clipse ft. Slim Thug - Wamp Wamp (Whut It Do) Yung Joc - It’s Going Down Jay-Z -Trouble Beyonce ft. Jay-Z- Upgrade U Amerie ft. Willy Denzey - Losin' U Nump ft. Droop E - One Mo Ginn Jibbs ft. Yung Joc, Lil Wayne & Lil Mont- Chain Hang Low (Remix) Gangsta Boo ft. Kristyle, Don P (of Trillville) & Drumma Boy - Show Ya Grill
Best Festival: I didn’t make it to Quart so I only went to one, and that was Hultsfred (I’m from Hultsfred, I gotta repp right). Some good bookings like Kano and Diplo vs. A-track. But hey Rockparty, hire me instead of Gustav Broms. The last night was funniest from my point of view. Lot’s of luv!
Best Game: the Nintendo Wii. Oh plz, release the turquoise one when u release the new Super Mario. Runner Up: Guitar hero II. I’m not THAT good at it, but hey, that doesn’t matter. I LUV that type of games. I miss my dance math and DDR. TZUGARO FFS!
Best Grime Rave In Sweden: DJ Cameo, JME, Tinchy Stryder and L.Man @ Get Up!, Gothenburg in February. Get Up! had all the best grime bookings this year.
Top Ten Grimey: Female Allstars - Grab That Mic N.A.S.T.Y kru - Girls Luv Nasty Kano ft. Vybz Kartel - Buss It Up The Essentials - So Much Better Syer - Roll Dark Ribz- Airtime Wiley - Gangsters Skepta - Duppy Black Jack ft. Hyper, Nolay & Nj - Straight Off The Block Shystie – Murderation
Runners Up: Envy ft. Lady Fury - Please Calm Down Wiley - Eskiboy Slix - 3 Roachee
Best Party: DJ Assault @ the Eye in Gothenburg in November. Hype Hype and I had aches from the excessive exercise all that dancing gave me for several days afterwards.
Top Ten Remixes: Lady Sovereign ft. Missy Elliott - Luv Me Or hate Me (Remix) Neckle Camp ft. Slew Dem, Roll Deep, Ruff Sqwad & Young Gunz - Countdown (Remix) Lil Wayne ft. Slim Thug & Mannie Fresh - Go DJ (Remix) Jermaine Dupri - Gotta Getcha (Roll Deep Remix) Lily Allen - LDN (Radioclit Remix) Nump - I Gott Grapes (M.I.A Remix) Rick Ross Feat. Best TV-Series: WEEDS! Reason 1; Malvina Reynolds intro, reason 2; the "MILF Weeds"-episode with Snoop and reason 3; highly addictive.
Hustlin’: #1 the original by Rick Ross, #2 The refix by Blackjack, Slix and Scorcher and #3 The Jammer one.
Most Overrated Phenomena: The Blog hype. 2006 was the year when everyone in the fuckin’ eastern world got themselves a blog and thought their journalistic was worth the Pulitzer (expt me, I stay true to my Diary I’ve kept since 1999). Luckily some good blogs was born, I only read 2, Jme’s and Fashionmuslimetterna. Let’s make 2007 the year when blogspot and all the other sites servers collapse.
Worst Trend #1: All those who repped the Cazal glasses with fake window glass, I mean cum on. SKANKY KRANKY FOOGLY! And most of all, totally unnecessary.
Worst Trend #2: The boots, the granny shoes and the ugly new school kicks. Euw. Please stop raping my eyes.
Other tracks of 2006 i played a lot: The Pack- Vans Paper Boy - Fitted Hat The Alliance ft. Fabo - Tatted Up Dem Franchise Boyz - Ridin' Rims Lil Jon - Snap Ya Fingaz Luch Million$ ft. Thank u for 2006, Happy New Year!
_061229: Grime Lickety Split
Every now and then they pop up, the good mixes. This is the Grimesplit mixtape, 1 h 09 min long, made by MC Svålen. Tracklist is missing but contains tracks of Youngstar, Roll Deep, Essentials, Ruff Sqwad, Skepta, JME, Wiley, Jammer, Pay as u go and so forth.
Went to Vimmerby (the home of Pippi Longstocking and Astrid Lindgren und so weiter u know) with mami and one of my younger sisters for the Christmas sale yesterday, yeah I’m still home in Småland. Got to write an academic jibbrish essay and need peace and quiet. Anyhoe, bought me some pair of new jeans. My old old old faves got ripped in the seems one time too much.
I’m doing a Various of 2006 – list for u, will post it tomorrow, until then; Chingy ft. Jermaine Dupri - Dem jeans. One of the best songs of 2006:
_061226: U got six on it - or U CAN'T WU TANG BETTER THAN ME!
01. Bamabounce - Wu Tang Slide - (Download)
MEOW! Got hold of this song, FINALLY. Yesterday I ‘tanged the dance floor and nobody understood what the hell I was doing, I also screamed “U CAN’T WU TANG BETTER THAN ME, U CAN’T WU TANG” and had this track in my head. Been saying that phrase for a long time now. Well, I LUV this, the main tune of 2006 alongside with Yung Joc’s It’s going down and sume other.
I dedicate this one to Donya and Jonna a.k.a the Fashionmuslimettes. Enjoy!!!
02. Chamillionaire ft. Akon - Ridin' Overseas - (Download)
I’m not feelin’ Chams new mixtape "Mixtape Messiah pt. 2" THAT much, but for some strange reason I like this Akon refix of Ridin’, perhaps it’s Akons nasal voice. How the hell do u get a voice like that? Fiddy talks like he has potatoes in his mouth by the shots he got, but Akon, what have happened with yours? A funny footnote, Akons real name is the longest one u ever can imagen.
03. Stuntman ft. Chopper Fam - Work - (Download)
Almost everything good comes from ATL atm. This is a version of Stuntman’s Work featuring the Chopper Fam.
04. Jammer - Pussy Poppin' - (Download)
U might remember the track by Ludacris and Shawanna, this is Jammer’s version of pussy poppin’ on a headstand.
05. UNK - Back It Up - (Download)
I’ve listened to DJ Unks Walk it out the whole fall (I don’t feel the remix with Outkast and Jim Jones thou). DJ Unk’s album is damn good and this is one of the best tracks. A proper booty bouncer!
06. Lil Boosie - Do The Ratchet - (Download)
U know the chicken noodle, u know the wu-tang, now learn the Ratchet.
_061225: The Alliance - Tatted Up!
Hope u’ll survive the Christmas. I’m all stuffed and satisfied. Tonight is THE night of the big homecoming party. Hype! Dunno what to wear yet thou. Bodypaint? Naaa, this is Hultsfred, a short skirt is too much excitement for all those who’s left behind over here (I may have to take a pic so u’ll understand what’s Hultsfred’s all about when it’s not a festival over here, really really countyside with all those dense countryside values).
But I’m thinking of getting an tattoo. I will probably not cope with the pain and can’t afford it, but I know it would look stunning on me. The motive? A large pink satin bow. Where? Go figure. At my lower back of course. Yeah, I will never happen, but I have the main tattoo tune thou. Made by the boys of the ATL-based The Alliance. Skinny, P.O.P, Blackout, Ty-Cutta & Heat teamed up with Fabo from D4L and made this. Tatt tatt tatted Up!
JME’s insane. He has now built a Street Fighter game 4 u. A Grime-ified Street Fighter. Street Fighter II is one of the best Capcom games and one of the best ever released (Chun-Li Fo’ shizzle). And as JME says: "Take your anger out here, This is the anger room, Don't fight on the streets. Fight here. In the comfort of your own home".
So, to save the house peace during Christmas, when u get annoyed of the family/gifts/food/other, or if u did’nt got to get that Wii or the pink ps2 or an X-box 360 (if u wanted a ps3 ur juz stupid), try some old school shit with this grimy twist.
The bus trip was pleasant at first, then an old stopid woman started to get really annoying cuz we were like 7 minutes behind schedule, OMG! The world is going under! Chill down u old woman! Then the foogly girl behind me talked in her cell for like 4 hours. I know, I’ve been there 2, BUT I was young, she was like… 35?! Anyway, I listened to the track below at least 25 times.
I missed the Game gig in Copenhagen the 20th, according to a friend it sounds like it was a blast. A kiddo got to rap One Blood, and as his farewell to the crowd simply was FOCK G-UNIT and a gurl snatched and broke his chain, but Jayceon was all chilled ‘bout it. I like people who’s down to earth. Therefore:
I’ve got several weaknesses, one of them is sugar and another is chicks who rap. Candi Redd is a 19 year old girl from Houston and she’s the new crunk chick about to blow. A redhead that just stared her own label, Business 1st Entertainment. Their motto: don’t talk about it be about it. Suits me perfect.
Candi’s inspired by Lisa Left Eeye Lopes (RIP) and one girl I don’t like, her name is Da Brat. What’s up with Da Brat anyway? Why the hell were she in that silly “reality” show (which name I forgot). However, Candi Redd is her name, don't forget it.
I don’t know why the hell I like KSounds. Their logo looks like a logo for some firm dealing with metal or something, their vids are quite juvenile, but I suppose I think it’s cute. I listed to Next up the whole spring and here’s their new hit single What I Say. Enjoy!
Krazy Fiesta Jo-Han - Ass'n'Titties Edit
Got a bonus 4 u, after all it's christmas, Jo-Han of KF did an edit of Dj Assaults biggest hit. Download and let ur booty dance in the christmas spirit.
Well, now I'm off 2 Hultsfred, home to my parents with one of my sisters, in a bus for like 6 hours. I LUV coming home, I can't say I fellin' the bus trip thou.
_061221: Wiley - Tunnel Vision Volume 4
Got Wiley’s "Tunnel Vision volume 4" yesterday. It was hmmm… Weird?! Some good Wiley tracks like Respect as you can expect, excellent wardubs, some freestyles, one good from Ears and a boring one from Fury. I hate everytime she attacks the mic with a big wasp of breath, chill girl! And he put his version of the old old old Pum Pum Riddim on it aswell and a track with a child rappin’ over a eurotechno beat (over Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone actually). And finally some instrumentals as usual. I luv the Crash Bandicoot, played that game today also. Anyway, the best track on this was that with the child called Joke Ting.
But this volume was like the volume you will forget that it ever really was. Let’s hope #5 brings more joy.
Free Christmas Goodies - Or iSH Stole the Christmas
It’s only three days until Christmas Eve and the free Christmas tracks just keeps poppin’ in. One of my favourite is the one done by iSH. Produced by Sophie and with a funny lyrix.
01. Envy ft. Lady Fury - Please Calm Down - (Download)
Envy is a grime chick who repps the endz of Manchester. Her solo mixtape "Don’t call it a comeback" will drop in 2007. This teaser produced by Scratcha DVA and with Lady Fury on the mic is bangin’.
02. T.I. - Where They At - (Download)
I love this new T.I. track taken from the mixtape "Grand Hustle Presents In Da Streetz Volume 4". It reminds of Young Jocs splendid track It’s Going Down.
03. Yung Joc - Do Ya Bad - (Download)
Speaking of Yung Joc. Why the hell did he pick 1st Time as his new single? It’s rubbish, boring and sleepy. "Joc City" is full of proper good tracks, and so is the mixtape with DJ Ideal called "Joc of Spades". Therefor I give you this.
04. JME - Boy Better Know - (Download)
This year was the year of Boy Better Know, no doubt ‘bout it. When this poppes up in my ears on my pink mp3 player when I walk to Uni I got 2 listen to it over and over again. One of the best tunes of "Derkhead".
05. Bodyrox ft. Luciana - Yeah Yeah - (Download)
Yeah, I know. This track runs on MTV e v e r y night. I sleep with the telly on (cuz I can’t stand silence, I’ve got tinnituss) and perhaps that’s the reason why I can’t stop listen to this.
06. Dj Webstar ft. Young B, Trina - Chicken Noodle Soup remix - (Download)
Either you danced the wutang or perhaps you did the chicken noodle soup, either way, this remix of the official chicken noodle soup main tune. Let it rain, and clear it out.
07. Bearman ft. Fender, L.Man, Lioness - 99 Bottles of Bear - (Download)
I luv corny chants (I used to be and radical cheerleader) and I like when people make something good out of ‘em like Bearman do on this.
08. Gwen Stefani - Don't Get It Twisted - (Download)
Some chick in the past seasons of one of my fave telly programs; Americas Next Top Model had "Don’t get it twisted" as her motto. A good motto perhaps, but I like beef and drama, and I like this Gwen version. It’s twisted and dancy.
09. Crime Mob - Flexin' - (Download)
I can’t wait for the new Crime Mob album, I know, I’ve been tellin’ you that for some time now, but listen to this and go out and FLEX!
10. Coon Daddy & DJ Godfather - See U No Mo - (Download)
This track is an old one but the booty-scene has finally popped in Sweden and I wanna here this on the floor DJ’s!!!!
the Sound of London - pix
I didn’t take any pix @ Sound of London. I didn’t had any energy for doing that when everything was so fuckin’ ‘tarded. But lucky for u djungeltrumman.se did. Here’s one of Donya and me, she looks possessed and I look like I found Jesus and the holy trinity.
For more pix, like of the bootytainer NastyMalin and the rest of the sound system room of urself maby or some foogly hipsters, CLICK HERE!
_061218: the Sound of London
Sound of London was like, not that hype. Shystie decided to take a dump when her plane was boarding so she missed the flight. And apparently she couldn’t get a new one, so Sway became the headline of the night. I can’t say that he lived up to his name. He was rubbish basically. Tired. Shouting his own name like 500 times. Don’t you go tired of hearing ur name Sway? I know I do. Then he juz did a lame freestyle accapella to Download, and had to rely on Up ur speed as a crowd pleaser then he said goodnight. Next time Derek, I suggest that u pimp up ur performance and not ur clothes. Step yo game up ffs!
Someone who not need to step it up at all is Faith SFX. That kid is insane and was according to many the best live act that evening. The night was saved by a Frenchman and a Swede thou, I mean Radioclit with guests like Ears, Mapei, Faith and the bootytainer in the soundsystem room. (Checkout Radioclit's new Ep "Mature Macho Machine") It was good music, happy people and a heavy moshpit. Big Up! Without that the evening would have fallen in the category, big hype but nothing innit. When the lights was turned on 03.00 @ Münchenbryggeriet it felt like a disco for people under 18 and I didn’t even got a VIP-pass thou I was on the fuckin’ VIP list. Bah! An speaking of age, why was the age limit set to 20?! Could have been loads of money grimeheads there that night. Let’s face it, the sound of London IS young at age.
The afterparty at some guy called Christer was nyce, the soundsystem people kept doing their thing, unfortunately the police came to set and end to things like they always do. They ran in to the apartment like it was a bomb in there or something. Well, so the crowd split up and everyone was going to the hotel afterparty with some Foreignbeggars dude I think but me and friends went home to Slim of NFL Kru and played X-box. I beat ‘em all.
It was a fun night but a lot of things could have been better latter to speak, but well, this is Sweden, not London.
Finally, thnxxx to everyone who came to me and bigged up First Up! LUV!
Vybz - Buss It Up
I’m not in to that dancehall scene expt for Lady Saw but one man I truly feel is Vybz Katrel. Vybz (born Adidja Palmer) is a famous Jamaican DJ and now he’s been going into the rapping thing.
He’s done one of the better remixens of JT’s My Love and has also done a big tune with Kano, finally been released to the people. Download ‘em:
Volume 4 of Wiley's "Tunnel Vision" will be released the 18th. This is not the main talk about town on Wiley thou, you may have read all about it already but for you who haven't. I went to sleep 21:20 last night. Heavy tired and exhausted by all uni shit I have to do before Christmas and playing Guitar Hero II on my friends pink PS2. But anyhoe, my beauty sleep was disturbed by phone calls regarding the new WAR. Wiley clashed Mucky Wolf Pack and God's Gift at the Roll Deep set on Rinse the 10th. So heavy that God's and Wolf Pack stormed the studio, grabbed the mic, took Wiley outside and shut the stream down with the words Don't call my name in the mic. [...] Come outside, I wanna show you the difference yeah, the levels are very high.
My caller wondered if Wiley had survived the attack, I mean u don't want God's Gift's rage on u. But according to Logan Sama on the RWD forum Wiley's alive and kickin':
Bruv I got rushed but I'm ok, not a mark on my face. Ready 4 revenge, please tell the internet I'm ok and Wiley will be back 2mora with a lot after this bit of publicity. I love the internet and I will continue to give them what they want year in year out; hype. I am the hypelord. If you saw me you wouldn't believe I got rushed. I'm the best. Please put this on RWD forum 4 me.
Sama has talked to Gift also, he simply says that now Wiley knows.
Apparently two of the youngsters of Mucky had kicked Wiley when he was lying on the floor. Then they moved outside. Download the whole drama.
I download u - But I don't want u 2 download me
A year ago I was listening to Sway 24/7. Then when I saw him later this year I was disappointed, big time. The set was so lame and nobody seemed to care about him. Added to this, I was very drunk, one of my boobies popped out of the top I wore and Sway got pissed at me when I shouted that downloading was okay. Ok, I know this is a red light district subject, but, to take Grime as an example. I don't think it would have been what it is today if it haven't been for the downloading possibilities. I for an example had never got hold of things except for maybe some Dizzee Rascal records and Sovie releases.
Don't download everything illegal, have a balance, by some as well, but to download a track now an then at least I think is okay. Therefore I bring you the Sway track against downloading. It's a very good one, produced by Terror Danjah. Learn it before Saturday.
Today on the Lucia day is the long awaited release of Jammers mixtape "Are U Dumb" volume 1. Jammer is a really funny dude, I do think he thinks I'm kind of dumb (but ok I agree sometimes I am, even the sun has it's spots). Last time I saw him I was furious, someone had stolen my cam, semi Jamers fault cuz his long arms hit the cam as my girlfriend was taking pix in Gothenburg. But I wasn't mad with Jammer thou, it was the stupid idiot male friend I had to sleep with.
Anyways, I pinched Jammers arse several times, got real boozed on Hennesay and I think I was really obnoxious. Some days later Jammer and another dude phoned me I didn't know what they wanted cuz I had some bad reception. Anyway, Jammer I'm sorry for pinching ur arse, the tracklisting of the mixtape looks really good.
_061211: The Essentials - So Much Better
I totally missed the Kuduro night. Instead I was enjoying fever and a fuzzy mind. But yesterday I dyed my hair so I'm feelin' so much better now.
So Much Better is also the title of the new Essentials track. The South London based crew have got back together, State your name was one of my all time fave grime tracks so thanks heaven. The new line up features Bigrem (formerly known as Remerdee), Jendor, Dott and DJ Bossman. So Much Better featuers the South London MC Snipekeedo and is produced by Virgo. One of my top tunes at the moment.
Krazy Fiesta/Jo-Han - Pre X-mas Mini Mixx - Download
It's Christmas eve in less than 2 weeks, could cause a lot of stress, but don't stress yourself. Jo-Han, of Krazy Fiesta brings to you a mellow mix to relax to. At least that's what Christmas is all about. Chillin' and willin'. Tracklist:
01 Zapp ft. Roger Troutman - Computer Love
02 Soul Village - Everybody Loves The Sunshine
03 Funkenteller ft. Mapei - All This Jelly
04 Mandrill - Solid
05 Slim Thug - Dropping Diamonds (Frodoe remix)
06 Jonzun Crew - Space Is The Place
07 Soil & "PIMP" Sessions - Fuller Love
Baking ham - Oh, she's CAKEing
Yesterday was also the day of the Nobel prize. Our Swedish princesses was not allowed to attend at the after party according to the prizetaker in physics and Maddes dress did not cause a boob chock. Sounds like a dull boring party in my humble opinion. One royalty I really like was Marie Antoinette, ill-fated Archduchess of Austria and later Queen of France. She was killed by a guillotine and is most famous for quotes like "If the people have no bread, let them eat cake", what's not to love?
Sofia Coppolas movie about Marie is running in Swedish theaters atm, I haven't seen it yet thou. But I guess it's good. As queen Marie we can see Kirstin Dunst, best known to me as the cheerleading captain in "Bring It On". Cheerleading movies is like the best movie category ever and if I could survive on cake I would. My favorite? Princess cake, with lots of cream, green marzipan and a big pink rose on top, of course.
_061207: Ben Frost - Is dead
In spite of the fact that I studied art in upper second high school I'm not much of an art fan, let's just face it. But I love pomo (postmodern art like Jenny Holzer and Barbara Kruger), at least it's pop cultural value speaks to me. And I LOVE Ben Frost. I know, I've been mentioned him earlier on here, but tomorrow is the opening of his new exhibition "Don't try this at home" in Brooklyn.
Ben himself is an 31 year old man from Down Under. He's quite pretentious about the message of his art, but well, which artist aren't?! He want to speak to the world through the message of junk culture has spoken to us, in his own interpretation. I just like the way he works with like collages, no empty space, bright colours, motives of cartoon porn, Simpsons, Hello kitty, Barbie, Bambie, rainbows, air plan security cards and stuff like that.
I want one book for Christmas. It's the photo booklet from the graffiti artist TILT. The book's called "Fetish Bubblegirls - Babitches and GraffiTILT worldwide". TILT comes from Toulouse and make bubble pieces. When he do a piece on girl he uses puffy Japanese pens. His project "Fetish Bubblechicks" incorporates his fetishes with his graffiti skillz.
The booklet shows photos from his travels around the world when he has painted on girls. Girls who blow bubbles, girls on oldschool roller-skates, girls in high heels and his walls. So HOT!
Ta-Ta - Bitch U Luv 2 hate
Khia seems to had made an new enemy. She's called Ta-Ta and her Bitch U Luv 2 Hate (Download) is an diss to Khias Snatch the cat back. I like it. Ta-Ta claims to be the new Queen of the South. Lame? Well, Khias new album "Gangstress" are really really boring. But has better artwork than "Thug misses", that record breaks every rule of resolution, god taste and fonts. Euw!
_061206: Crime Mob - Let's get buck!
Ever since 2004 and the release of Crime Mob's Stilettos I've LUVED Princess and Diamond of the Mob. Alongside with Chyna White and Gangsta Boo they really flex their buziness as the first ladies of crunk. Crime Mob's new single from their forthcoming album "Hated On Mostly", Rock Yo Hips ft. Lil' Scrappy has been on several mixtapes already and are really not that good. But on the other hand, If u listen to the new DJ Scream mixtape ft. Crime Mob "Mob Shit" their new material is bangin'. Esp. the track Flexin'. Rock Yo Hips is the most boring track innit!
"Hated On Mostly" is supposed to drop in January, one thing to add is that one of the Mob has been sent to jail for molesting his younger brother. Not that fresh, what is fresh thou is the upcoming mixtape of Diamond and Princess.
My favorite type of beer is Red Sripe. Light and sweet. Bearman is one of the crazy jokas of the crimescene. Dressing up in an bear costume and acting like and poor copycat of Kanye West. But he can pull it off. U may have heard his Drink Bear from the "Run the Road"- compilation. Now finally his debut album "Bear Necessities" has been released. He's trademark is burping so why the hell do I like him? Well, juz for the same reason I like Bruza of Aftershock, his voice. It's something unique. Dark and deep.
"Bear Necessities" is full of drinkin' references and may stand in contradiction to JME's proclamation of a lifestyle without eating junk, smokin skunk and to get drunk. And it works well. Bearman has two things that the crimescene really needs, skillz and humor. Brown Bears Picnic is insane and also theese 2 featuring Doctor:
_061205: 5 tracks to hot up ur - Dull as dishwater Tuesday
I hate Tuesdays. I have lectures in the evening, so the whole day is juz a long boring waiting for them to start. Lucky 4 u I got time for giving u some tracks:
01. Ying Yang Twins - Jigglin - (Download)
In wait for the new Ying Yang album "Chemically Imbalanced" I've listened to the Carl Craig remix of Wait nonstop, but now it's finally here. The Twins are back, but I like this blipblopish floorfiller with their stereotypic crunk sound way much more than their current single with Wyclef.
02. Jibbs ft. Chamillionaire - King King - (Download)
I suppose u, like me are quite tired of Young Jibbs and Chain hang low. Not that the track is bad in any way, I've just played it way too many times. Well, on "Jibbs Feat. Jibbs" Jibbs teems up with Chamillionaire and got King Kong Beatin' in the Trunk. The only track on the Jibbs record that's rubbish is the one with Melody from PCD. I hate PCD and mostly the red headed one (can she dance?!!!). It's just Nicole who's doing something meaningful in that group, Nic, loose the rest, u can do ur shit on our own, teem up with Carmen Electra again. PAHLEEEEZ.
03. Pitbull - Fuego - (Download)
04. Pitbull - Ay Chico (Lengua Afuera) - (Download)
I couldn't care less about some stupid pretentious arses who claims that reaggeton is dead. Let's state the facts, you can't run a dancefloor without going down and dirty to Pitbull. It's just as simple as that. Anyhoe, Pitbull is so much more than that and his new record "El Mariel" it a must have. And the fact that some rhymes are in Spanish just makes me wanna dance even more. BEND OVER GIRL SHOW ME WHAT YOU WORKING WITH!
05. Krazy Fiesta - Hey Love - (Download)
JSPR & Jo-Han of Krazy Fiesta brings u a mashup of almost everything good in the world. Dance will ya?!
Nigga, where u from? - ATL!
T.I. ft.Young Jeezy, Young Dro, & B.G - Top Back (remix) - (Download)
As an former skateboarder I'm supposed to hate ATL. But ATL is my new favorite movie thou that the dramas unfold and resolve at their local rollerskating rink, Cascade. I give you 3 reasons, T.I. T.I. and T.I. And the fact that it's easy Sunday watching, and have dialogues like this:
Teddy: Ya'll sure are. And you know something, New New...
New New: Nope.
Teddy: No, I mean. I'm sayin', when we gon' get together?
New New: Not gon' happen. Never.
Teddy: I mean, why don't you just let me finish what I gotta say.
New New: I know what you gon' ask me, Teddy, I know you. And I seen you skate.
Teddy: So?
New New: So that tells me everything I need to know about a man.
Teddy: Pssh, we'll then you should know that, that I'm the quickest one out there, you know? I be pumpin' in out there, baby. I pop, pop, pop!
New New: Exactly. A quick pumper.
I judge a person by his/hers handshake. A lame handshake like a soft cock means that the person is not to rely on. Learn it.
_061203: Born Threat - Juke it on the floo'
Born Threat sounds like ridiculous name for an oldschool hardcore band. Even their jacket looks like an relic from the hardcore scene anno 1997. But they're not. Born Threat is a snap/crunk group from Decatur, Georgia like Luch Million$. In fact, they lay on the same company. Born Threat's hit Juke ya boi, juke ya gurl together with Threat Misses is one of my favorite tracks at the moment, here are some other:
_061202: Oompa Loompa - If ur wise u listen to Mr. Bunny Hop
Luch Million$ single Bunny Hop ft. Don P is fuckin' genius. The genius part is the sample of the Oompa Loompa-song from Charlie and the Chocolate factory (from the old movie with Gene Wilder of course). It's simple and snappy/down tempo crunk and it will last in ur head day in and day out. Luch Million$ born in Atlanta, hailing from the streets of Decatur, GA, he has been in the music industry, since age 13. Watch him, he'll be big.
