T-Pain has a real annoying voice, like Akon, no wonder he signed him to Konvicted. But in spite of, or maby because of that vocoder, I really like T-Pain much more than the jailbird A. His first hit single I’m Sprung was apparently ghost-written for a girl named Amber who he later married.
T-Pains new album will be out in March and the new single Frozen ft. Akon and production by Lil’ Jon next month. Until then enjoy these:
Another post on the subject of Chanelle Calica a.k.a. Shystie. FINALLY, and let’s hope the second times the charm this time, Shystie will be performing @ Debaser Medis, Stockholm Friday the 16th of February. Happiness and joyful bliss for all of us who went home from "The Sound Of London" with a big Shystie shaped hole in our hearts.
The evening is called "Första Festen" and is an arrangement by 626 Music and Devrim Productions. Others who will perform is Jackie "Mapei" Cummings and Eros Video & Lil’ Gud.
Entrance is 100:- SEK, age limit 20 years and the time 20-03.
Ps. A bonus for all of u who’s gonna party tonight, taken from the Fluokids’s blog, and I can't stop dance to it:
Oh my diddy, the new Shystie track! New Style reveals surprisingly not, a new style, a more electronic one. It’s a mash up withparts of Womans World over the Benny Benassi Satisfaction beat and added with so much more.
The track is taken from her forthcoming album "Dear Diary" which will be released this summer. Press play and LISTEN!
_070124: News of KA-NO
Swedish Radio P3 played the awsome Kano gig from Hultsfred last summer yesterday. Woke up some good memories and what’s up with KA these days? His new mixtape that will not have a name drops soon. There’s a free download from it on his MySpace, his version of Fucking With The Team. "It was my tune originally, we remixed it, then Skepta's remixed the remix and it's good so I've done my own version. I'd heard the one with Ghetto, Skepta, Scorcher and Wiley on and that was fire too so I wanted to spit on it. "
Sounds good. And a big g4m3r news, Kano is gonna be a character in the new Def Jam Icons game. Last time I played that game I was
Shawnna and I played so much one of my thumbs was getting a blister. But I killed it thou.
Well, u can play with Kano in March and around that time a single from his new album (that’s nearly finished) will be released also.
Speaking of Shawnna, she has teamed up with two of my fave gals, Remy Ma and Jacki-O. The three of them have started an all female new super rap group. They juz gonna work with females on their forthcoming album and it’s sounds too good to be true. The group is going under the working name "Head Bitches In Charge".
Here's my alltime fave tracks of each and one of ‘em:
01. Chamillionaire ft. Kelis - Not A Criminal - (Download)
Cham teams up with the first girl to scream on a track, Kelis and this is the first single from his new album "Ultimate Victory" that will drop in March.
02. Rick Ross ft. Flo'Rida - Birthday - (Download)
Rick the ruler does it again. This with Flo’Rida and production by the Runners is almost a new Hustlin’. I want cake and Ross every day.
03. Teriyaki Boyz ft. Kanye West - I Still Love H.E.R - (Download)
When Teriyaki Boyz released "Beef or Chicken" I listened 2 it 24/7 for some time. This one, with Kanye is not in any range of being as good as Konyawa Baggy Pants or The Takeover, but still, it’s Teriyaki baby! It’s NIGO, it can’t be bad.
The Retirement of Wiley
U may already read about it @ RWD (link in comments) but for u who have not, Wiley is retiring. He will release "Playtime Is Over" in April but he retired yesterday. Kinda sad really, but I guess it’s good also, for the scene not to stand still and stagnate. Leave room for the up and coming youngsters. as he says to hattie Collins , RWD:
"I’m retiring. I’m serious. I’m tired, really tired. I just want to be normal. I’m 28 and I’m tired. I’ve felt like it for ages but today I woke up and realised I can’t carry on because I’ve got responsibilities that are way beyond the grime scene. I do the grime scene because I’m the godfather and all that bulls*it, but really, in this scene, when you’re at the top, people just want to drag you down and obviously I’d rather walk away than be dragged down. I’d rather walk away than be stabbed or killed. I’d rather be at home playing with my daughter, rather than be in a club wondering if that person is gonna rush me or that one wants to shoot me"
It’s an end of an era and hopfully a fresh start for someone else.
_070122: Stiletto Pumps, Krazy Fiesta In Da Club
New week, and this gonna be a better one then the previous two, with posts every single day, PROMISE!
The Krazy Fiesta site is down down down for the moment, but the guys of the Fiesta collective still keep it up and makin’ hot tracks. Stillettos (Pumps)
is one of the most memorable tracks of the early crunk scene, and it had a big impact cuz it spoked to the female audience.
This is an remix made of Jo-Han of KF and I tell ya, it’s almost too good to be true!
The new Crime Mob album "Hated On Mostly" will be out 2morrow according to the Mob’s MySpace, other sources speaking of the 27th of March, either way, one of the tracks I enjoy most is their interpretation of Haddaways classic 90’s smashin' hit What Is Love .
If u not danced to that, u simply was dumb, stiff and dead.
The fifth and final instalment of Wiley’s "Tunnel Vision" series has landed. And it’s a damn good closure. Some recycling of things like the Ice Rink beat and sum other stuff, and a friend of mine told me that during this
massive mixtape releases he had now got tired of hearing Richards voice.
I don’t know what's up with the Boy Better Know camp at the moment,
but I think Jme is about to release some vinyl’s and Wiley may have to spend some time with his daughter and finish off his third album "Playtime Is Over"
on Big Dada. Hopefully it will be released in February.
What’s up with that everybody thinks that Mondays are the worst day of the week? It’s Tuesdays u fools! I fuckin’ hate ‘em with my whole big heart. This is turning into a tradition, a download list every week, well enjoy and hopes it cheers up ur day.
01. The Pack ft. Dem Franchize Boyz - Fresh - (Download)
This was in the preview section of XXL online, The Pack teams up with Dem Franchize Boyz, not the best song by the Pack, but it’s still reFRESHing.
02. Yo Gotti ft. La Chat - Shawty Violating Whup That Hoe - (Download)
Been playing the new Wally Sparks/Yo Gotti mixtape a lot during the weekend, this is one of the best tracks, featuring La Chat. La Chat is one of my all-time fave crunk chicks. Pure luv.
03. Trillville ft. Lil Jon - A Town Stomp - (Download)
And as always, Lil Jon makes u wanna dance, now STOMP THAT SHIIIIT ON THE FLOO! I luv tracks like this silly, dumb and simple. Makes me long for "Crunk Rock". Trillville’s new album "Reloaded" will be released soon.
04. JME - Hyping - (Download)
I walk everywhere I go, buses are for lazy fuckers and I hate riding a bicycle, juz cuz it fuckes up my hair and yeah I might come across all shallow, and yeah, I am and I prefer walking. This is one of my fave tracks jigglin’ my pretty butt to, produced by Grime Reaper and JME on the mic.
05. Cam'ron ft. Hell Rell - Cha-Ching Cha-Ching - (Download)
Can’t expect any money from Uni until the middle of February. My rent needs to be paid in 7 days and I feel kinda fucked cuz I own 9.50 SEK and my rent is 3025.-/month. But, I try to think that money is just money, I’ll survive somehow. Killa Cam got loads of Cha-Ching, I comfort myself with that.
_070115: Roll Deep Regular 2007
Sorry for the drain this site has been through, but I've been hella busy with uni work and I still am, so u juz have 2 bare with me.
Then finally it came, the mixtape we been longing for since September, the "Rules and Regulation" volume 1. The previews Roll Deep gave back in May on their myspace with Babylon Burner and Hickory Dickory all pointed it the direction that it was gonna be big. And it is. Almost too good to be true actually. No, I don't spare the adjectives, "In At The Deep End" turned out be a big disappointment for me, expt for When I'm 'Ere and Heat Up, so I embrace this with my open arms.
"Rules and Regulations" got everything, good productions, the typical high class rap u always can count on from the Entourage and guest features from crews like Neckle Camp and Slew Dem.
And finally something worthy happens in Uppsala for a change, prepare for a blast with club FAP @ Orange this Saturday (the 20th). With whom u might ask, the one and only Tony Senghore, best known to me for his remixes of Lady Sovereign's 9-5. Also, Sweden's new favourite electro duo, iSH will entertain u during the night.
Come by my flat for the preparty and then put on ur dancing shoes and get to Orange. Their floor is small so u better get there in time. For more info visit: fap:klubb
Haha, what an electronic week this is turning into, but u might remember the Eric Prydz video, with all the sexy women workout and their tacky 80's fashion stylee. It's time for that, again. Now done by Mason VS. Princess Superstar. Yeah, this is the same Princess Superstar who made that awesome track called Bad Babysitter some years ago.
When we already are on the health and workout theme, I might as well give you two other perfect workout tracks, one grimy done by JME, a call to take care of ur body and one by Gravy Train!!!! Their show @ Shame in Stockholm was the most chaotic gig I have ever went to, lasted for like 20 minutes, then it turn into an orgy on stage, 4 real. Perfect.
Ur fave electronic master Curtis Vodka is about to hit Sweden again. Happy news for u and me who missed him in Gothenburg @ CVR last year. Here's the shows alongside with Al Ripken and KärleksJohan:
Jan 25th, Stockholm
Jan 26th, Göteborg
Jan 27th, Malmö
Let's hope my big monetary problem has solved out until then, I wanna dance my ass off 2 tracks like these:
Sorry for the lack of posts during the weekend but I've been busy painting one of my walls (got tierd of pink, now it's brown so u can call me Ms. Braun from now on) and one stupid essay. Everytime I open the main book for it I fall asleep.
Don't sleep on this thou. Aveneu D looks for sluts to appear in their vid for (Do I Look Like A) Slut. The song from their "Bootleg" album was one of my fave electro tracks of 2004/2005, so if u look like a one, videotape yourself (and friends) lipsynching to it and send a mini dv or vhs tape.
Send an email to: bookings@avenued.com for further information.
I know, this shit is old old old, but I havn't got my hands on it until now, and it fits in the "Oldie but an goldie"-section. From the "Back Like Cooked Crack Volume 2" mixtape that was released in 2005, big big BIG!
This is the new vid from the WolfPack of I'm Shinin', enjoy:
Also check their new hot track I Look Goodhere, (while ur there, download the other songs). Hit da dancefloor and grab ur whistle!
Bashy Chupa Chups
I really luved Bashy's last mixtape "Ur Mum", played We Got Links around 1000 times so my hopes for "The Chupa Chups Mixtape" are quite high. It's out soon and here's a free snippet.
Ants In Ya Pants And A Tip
I'm finally back in Uppsala after an 8 hour long bustrip, now I'm gonna start my new project, redecorating my flat, paint a wall and stuffs like that.
I forgot one thing when I wrote about Mistab F.A.B earlier, the reason why I did a post on him, the Ants In Ya Pants-song.
ps. If ur in Malmö 2day, don't miss Radioclit ft. Ears @ the Nöjesguiden/Rumle party. I luv Malmö, every time I'm there things a quite chaotic. Last time me and my best girlfriend got followed by narcs and they stole her boyfriend and interrigated him for hours. In a small dark room with only a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling like u can see in movies (for NO reason, none of us do drugs) There's Sweden 4 ya!
_070104: Candy Gets It Poppin'
Candice Pillay is a model from LA who has been in loads and loads of music vids like the ones of Pharell, Usher, Kray Twins, Pitbull, Ying Yang Twins and many many more. Now she’s on Def Jam and tries to get her own music carrier moving. Surprisingly it’s good. Thought it’s going to be rubbish but I can honestly say, it’s not.
Produced by Dem Joints, and a real keeper. It’s taken from her forthcoming mixtape called "Take A Picture".
This is the tracklisting of the 5th and the final instalment of Wileys Tunnel Vision series. Looks good and will be released the 22th of January.
_070103: Mistah F.A.B – Ghost Ride It!
There’s only one man who can hot up the Ghostbuster theme and corny chants, and that man is Mistah F.A.B. Mistah F.A.B. is a hustle, it's actually an acronym and it stands for "Money Is Something To Always Have Forever After Bread". His new double disc album "Yellow Bus Rydah" is about to hit the streets soon. He like to describe his thizzle movement like the Dipset movement, it’s everywhere.
Speaking of Dipset, haven’t posted their remix of It’s Going Down yet so excuse me for being all retrospective and shit, but here it is, another splendid version of the main theme from 2006!
01. The Pack - Candy - (Download)
I have one New Year’s resolution; try to get rid of my sugar addiction. Wish me luck. From now on I only chew gum and listen to candy.
02. Tiagrah - Girl Fight (Mr D Hyphy Remix) - (Download)
My youngest sis is angry and locked herself into her room. Our walls is like paper thin so I can hear her music, she’s listen to Tiagrah. I like this Hyphy remix.
03. The Federation - Hoes In Here - (Download)
I hated Federation and their I Wear My Stunna Shades At Night, therefore I didn’t gave their previous record released in 2004 a chance, stopid of me. It’s good and don’t sounds like Stunna shades at all. Phew!
04. Clinton Sparks ft. E40 - Dumb Hyphy - (Download)
I luv Clinton and esp. his "Smashtime Radio" volumes. Proper things!
05. Duggud ft. Scoop & Henok - Raise Your Glass Up - (Download)
As u all know by now, I'm not a fan of swedish hiphop, but every now and then something good pops. I like this. It don't feel swedish at all. Luv the beat aswell.
And to celebrate the small Super Mario Bros. pipe-theme on FU, I'll give u the good old:
06. Benefit - Super Mario Brothers Rap - (Download)
_070101: Post Code Wars
Hope u all survived the shooting of rockets and the whole thing of New Years Eve. I’m still in Hultsfred so I missed out on all that hardcore partying I was supposed to do, just had a dinner with my best friend and her family, it was nyce, soft and grown up.
To keep up that chilled downtempo thing, Skepta have put out a track for free download. Proper things, like always from boy Better Know. A mellow soft tune about war ending to start ur new year to:
Lil Looney is one of my friends who post about 50 bulletins on MySpace each day, so well, I felt obligated to check him out. Found good music from Oakland, he’s soon gonna put up a track with B from the Pack, so watch his space for that. Until then these snappy/hyphy goodies:
