_080531: KiD- To AdULTHOOD |
|
F UR X featured some of the cast members from the forthcoming movie AdULTHOOD (in cinemas from the 20th of June), which I’m really looking forward to since I loved KiDULTHOOD when I saw it. And in line with KiDULTHOOD, the sequel is also featured with a banging soundtrack and this title single with Bashy and Maniac on the production. Bashy’s debut album "Catch Me If You Can" has been puched back so many times but is finally due for release sometime in the summer. However, here's the official video for the Kidulthood to Adulthood: |

Touched this track briefly yesterday, and this is something u don’t see much of these days, a video premiering on TV before it hits the streets of Internet?! Here in Sweden MTV just labeled Wiley’s Wearing My Rolex as a 'Spanking New' so I guess it will take some time before I can see this brand new Dizzee ft. Calvin Harris and Chrome video on _my_ telly. So here it is from a telly in UK from when the video premiered on MTV Base some days ago, in absolute rubbish quality, but so u get what I’m talking about:
The video was shot at Notting Hill Arts Club and features cameo appearances by T2, Jammer and DJ Semtex. Will post a proper version s soon as it surfaces.
Seriously, Dizzee Rascal owns Wiley in so many ways I don’t know where to start. Everything he does just turn into gold and everything he does just works. Whether it’s sampling Lyn Collins and Galactic Force Band or this; arguably his most commercial song to date. I guess they’ve changed this a bit for the release, before it was titled Dance For Me now it’s Dance Wiv Me instead, but who the fuck cares, love this Dizzee-take on funky house, thank u Calvin Harris and Chrome’s singing in the beginning, it gives me the shivers! This is probably gonna last longer on the charts than Wearing My Rolex, as it has more depth to it, no matter how big the Bless Beats production still is. The single will be released the 30th next month on Dirtee Stank, and here’s a MUCH better clip than the previous one, a bit shorter but with Chrome on it as well and without radio drops and fucked up parts, enjoy!
And as a second bonus, the snippets preview of Weezy’s "Tha Carter III", just 14 days to go!

_080526: Dizzee News Dean Dance |
|
When Dizzee’s Dean, a track about this close friend of Dizzee’s called Dean who committed suicide, was featured on the CDS for Sirens last spring, I thought it outshined Sirens by far. It was so honest and sincere, and very beautiful as well. Esp. the line I heard they found your body in three parts man - You left behind a lot of broken hearts man moved me to tears (yeah, for real). It’s not clear exactly why Dean chosen to end his life, other than that the pressures of living were just too much to bear. You need Flash
Player 8 or higher to view video content with the ROO Flash Player. Click here
to download and install it.
The video was conceived and directed by Dick Carruthers and Tom Woodcraft. The photo’s and picture of the young men appearing in the film are: Dean Munroe 18, James Walsh 27, Rob Luke 19, and Tim Barlow, 26, all of whom took their own life. |

Right now I was supposed to be on the bus to Uddevalla and my best friend, but as u can see, I’m not. We were supposed to go out clubbing, instead I’m in my sofa, coughing, sweating, blowing my nose and watching some pre show to the F1 Monaco-race on the telly. Not exactly my take on how to spend a perfect Saturday. But I’ll guess it’s just to adjust to the indoor pussy lifestyle this weekend and get well. So, no dance for me tonight. I know I’ve badmouthed Justice ALOT the past time and I’m not gonna stop now either. I’m quite ashamed for posting this new Wale ft. Justice video to be frank. But I like it, esp. the Wale-take of Justice’s video with the nyce work of SO-ME with the cartoon t-shirts and so on done by director Todd Angkasuwan.
Justice are booked x2 in Sweden in next week, in Stockholm the 28th and here in Gothenburg the 29th, both times at a rubbish radio station club night with big sponsorships and it’s quite embarrassing, the bookers wrote this on their site next to the entrance: fee of 150 SEK Justice är inte gratis att ta hit kan jag säga :-) meaning: I can say, Justice is not exactly free to bring over:-). WHAT TYPE OF BOOKER PUT THAT OUT, AND WITH A SMILY AT THE END?! OMG, I can’t take a smily face professionally, they speak to me that the person who put it there lack in the ability to write and put words together. I’m just picturing the whole event, and no, I will NOT attend, not even if someone pays me to. Justice live is the most overrated act I’ve seen in years, to see them once was one time too many. Nuff about that duo, Wale has a new mixtape coming out next week, it’s his 4th and has the strange title "The Mixtape About Nothing" and will be available for free through www.elitaste.com the 30th.

_080522: Once Upon A Time |
|
When Estelle changed path into her new jazzy lounge diva-style, I was skeptical at first, but then I began to love it. This brand new single Once Upon A Time from Sincere ft. Natty sort of follows in the same direction, the jazzy/reagge/hiphop-ish production done by production duo Firstman feels so refreshing! Sincere’s banger That’s Not Gangster from 2005 was pure FIRE, this is more mellow, but still very good.
The single will be released the 26th of June and the album, ‘Now Or Never’ (Sincere’s a big fan of cheesy titles, I must say), is due around October and already features guest appearances from Skinnyman, John Blood, Natty, Sway and fellow Young Entrepreneur Mark Henry. Btw, speaking of Ms. Estelle, here’s the remix with Bussa-Bus!

Among the comments to this new video from Queens Team Blackout I found this: "OMG hip hop is dead. This whole generation is lost LMAO" at the top. I gave Mr. "Hip Hop Is Dead" Nas latest track a listen, u know the N.I.G.G.E.R. (The Slave & The Master) one, and to be frank, I was bored to death. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally okay with rap about serious issues and things like that, but that track was just dull as used dishwater and is centrality not helping the scene nor develop it any further. I much rather dance my ass off to tracks like this instead, even if it means that I'm a part of a lost generation, but what can go wrong when u put DJ Webstar on it? Absolutely nothing.
I know, there’s nothing conscious raising about this track (Ron Brownz on the production) at all, but it’s more alive than _anything_ coming out of Nas, period. I just don’t like when someone takes the right to declare a scene dead, like what Kiss FM’s Logan Sama does with the grime scene right now with the GRIME IS DEAD-tees, fuck off Logan. God, I just don’t like that little fella, he acts like a stupid child at the RWD forum and his 'dub', plz, I’m not gonna say a word about it, let just keep the silence speak for itself. Stay out of the scene if u have nothing positive to give! |

_080519: F Ur Next Ex |
|
Y’all know my feelings for him by now so forget Sway on this thing, press mute, hold ur hand over the screen etc. The ONLY reason I’m posting this is STUSH! Oh my God, this girl, I LOVE HER! I feel like a silly fan girl to be honest but yeah yeah, may so be it, I really admire that chick. And the tune’s banger, even if Sway’s there, just listen to the beat, and it even has the perfect length as it clocks in at 3:33!
I wish I was friend with my ex but that’s impossible, kinda sad cuz we were the best of friends for 7 years, together 5½ and lived together 4. Now, we don’t even speak, we haven’t even mercy added each other on FaceBook, that’s really fucked. I miss him, or I miss the time before we were a couple, we had so much more fun back then when we were 17 before everything went serious serious. I think u should be able to be friend with ur ex-s, but not the way a guy I formerly linked. He had a girlfriend at that time (I knew about her, she didn’t knew about me, he was "insecure of his feelings" meaning: a waste of time and a name) but all his other female friends were his former girlfriends, they were completely everywhere and they all knew each other, it was just creepy and strange. Luckily for me he chose his girlfriend over me (it never pays off to be the "other" woman), and now, they are no longer a couple, she is just one of his many ex-s holding on to him and he has yet another girlfriend. Can’t cope with people like that,
who can’t stay single for more than 1 day, they seem insecure and scared of themselves. I love being single, mingle and live all by myself, can’t picture myself living with a boyfriend right now, that’s way in the future. Anyway, this track is from Sway’s forthcoming release, "The Signature LP", dropping in June. |

_080519: Dunn Dunn Bankhead |
|
Oh my, Shawty Lo _really_ dislikes T.I. His main project lately has been to prove that T.I.’s not really from Bankhead. He even offered a reward for anyone who could find T.I.'s yearbook picture to prove it. And well, the high school picture has been found. T.I.'s high school was in Riverdale in Clayton County, which is not close to Bankhead, at all... And I guess it was this; Shawty Lo’s 2nd single from his debut solo album, "Units in the City", that started it all. It was rumored to be a diss-track against T.I. but other than that it has sadly been completely overshadowed by the first single (Dey Know) and the whole controversy about the rumor that Shawty Lo having HIV but then it was diabetes. However, it’s such a shame that I’ve missed it, cuz this it’s soooo--ooh good and even if this is not exactly fresh, it’s the _perfect_ start to a brand new week and a Monday morning. The video also contains the 3rd single Foolish;
What’s happening with T.I. btw? No Matter What was so boring, I gave it one listen and that was it. It contains the lines So u up and coming rappers wanna diss, just kill it. I'm officially the realest, point blank, period which was directed to Shawty Lo. Let’s hope there’s at least one What You Know or Top Back on Paper Trail when it drops the 12th of August. Anyway here’s a brand new quite decent reply I guess:

_080517: Stryderman |

I love artists who blog (except from KanYe, the hate _never_ stops, I could go on and on and on) and newest in line for my reading pleasure is Tinchy Stryder’s little white thingee on blogspot. Best by far of the artist blog’s I read is still JME’s even if the updates coming really really slow nowadays and I miss Estelle’s but this works as a good substitute for both of them. The star in the hood updates almost on a daily basis and who can resist Tinch in any way? Look out for his new Stryderman which will be out in July!
And if u have missed this, the B-side to Styderman, called Breathe produced by the almighty DaVinChe:
Now I’m gonna split hairs again but why oh why has DaVinChe let his hair grow that much, a ponytail, are u fucking kidding me? It’s only one type of men who can pull that one of; middle aged fat (a huge gut is mandatory) on motorcycles with a big beard to balance it up in the front. Think Hulk Hogan. I may be disturbed by rough porn or something but a pony tail like that just screams "fuck me hard and grab my ponytail at the same time and make me scream like a bitch... Eh, sidetrack... It’s a good tune, nuff said. And as I said above, the Stryderman and Breathe both out in July on Takeover Entertainment, here’s a clip if u can’t wait:

_080516: I Run This |
|
I’m almost going Weezy overload right now but the best part of this track, the 3rd single from Birdman’s album "5 Star Stunna", aside from Wee Wee, is probably the production by TMIX. It etches itself right into the brain and stays there, for a loooong looong time. Really addictive. Another is the cameo appearances by Lil’ Jon and Glasses Malone in this brand new video;
Btw speaking of nothing, come to think of it mentioning Lil’ Jon. I watched "Step Up 2" tonight, and PLZ can anyone send me a link to Kwamé B. Holland‘s tracks Let’s Go and Slide N Crank?! I can’t seem to find 'em ANYWHERE. It's the songs that are in the last dance scene by 410, mixed with Luda’s Potion (see this link, they start at 01:54). They are not on the OST, saw some dl-s of the tracks that didn’t make it, but that was the wrong song, hella wrong actually, it was Let’s Go with Lil’ Jon, Trick Daddy and Twista. So, if u have either one, or them both, or if u know where I could find them, give me a holler, I would be so grateful!

_080515: There's Too Many Man |
|
Since the hype of Over and Over got over, I haven’t been a fan of Hot Chip, don’t know why really, maybe it’s the annoying voice, it just goes by without making any impression on me at all. That’s why I haven’t shared a word about this hideous cover since it emerged on BBC’s Live Lounge the 7th. Yeah, I’m talking about the cover of Wearing My Rolex, I get chills just by the very thought of it really, and not the good kind. But I know some of u might like it, so well enjoy it by the link below, I’m a crowd pleaser today. Woke up on the wrong side this morning, I’m all grumpy and in a very bad mood, guess I have to at least try to balance things up.

_080512: Stuntin' Is A Habit |
|
This, the second single from David Banner’s forthcoming album "The Greatest Story Ever Told", (drops the 3rd of June), leaked onto the streets of Internet in October last year and the single was officially released the 25th of March, so it’s not exactly minty fresh, but I love it and atleast the video is brand new.
I’ve got 2 issues thou, okay, let’s go for the whole stuntin’ thingee but why oh why show off ur own cars David? Cars are boring and uninteresting and polluting! Then second, why did he choose a stupid fictional figure as his stage name when his own name Levell Crump is way much kooler and fits the mouth better? The Hulk is green and ugly, like Shreck or the Grinch. I don’t get it really. It’s not like I would choose Wonder Woman or Xena or the Power Puff Girl for that matter...

_080509: My Dougie Donk |

I really hate the fact that Soulja Boy is a minor. Just imagine how nyce this video could have been? I’m not talking about some cheap stripper moves right now, no, no. If u compare this with the Twerk Theme one I posted some days ago, the Twerk Theme-one owns Soulja’s, big time. But this official isn’t that bad, just that I wanted it to be more ass - less live footage.
Speaking of dances and so on, I’ve wanted to write a piece about this banger from Lil’ Wil for quite some time now, but somehow I’ve seem to forgot all about it. So here it goes.
Some people think the whole infusion with silly dances and things like that is draining hiphop. I think it’s the other way around actually. To infuse wacky choreographies and things like that keeps the boys from leaning against the wall at clubs, they don’t stand there nodding their heads off with stiff bodies like some dumb wallflowers, they are actually out on the floor dancing. The Dougie is dance from Dallas that has blown real big the past year and now with some help from Lil’ Wil, Lil’ Spain and the rest of the the RudeBwoy Ent crew with the lovely My Dougie-track.
Once u get through some horrible intro straight outta the early ’90-s before most of these boys were born, u get the instructions to learn to do the "Dougie Dance": |

_080506: Oeuf Stress |
|
Didn’t feel the urge nor the energy to look at the new video by the Justice when _every shitty blog_ wanked off to it a couple of days ago, but now I gave it a glance. And omg, this time they really took the prize.
I don’t know what they are supposed to stress, other than the fact that this is the work of two fugly middleclass white males taking advantage of real life problems to get some cred. Get over the Ed Banger hype people! Uffie’s latest song (Robot Oeuf. from the latest Ed Banger compilation) is not that good (the first minute is soooooooo damn boring, weak and shitty), guess that’s what’s happen when u turn into a crackhead, Justice live sets are just utter rubbish, they seem more into groupie browsing and looking for dumb ass hipsters to fuck rather than make good sets nowadays and Feadz new girlfriend looks like boring old standard milk. The only one of the Ed Banger crew I still got some respect for is Mr. Oizo. He feels rock solid.

As I've said before, the new Three 6 Mafia album will be so damn good (not that sure about the collabo with Good Charlotte thou, like, say what? Can’t Linkin’ Park rule the boring ass rock-rap genre on their own?!). Here’s the brand new offical video for Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body). What can go wrong with hot chicks in crazy colored wigs sucking on lollipops?
Yesterday I found out that Three 6 Mafia is heading for Scandinavia, for the first time ever! The only gig they will do here in Sweden will be in Malmoe, at Inkonst the 22nd of May to be exact. It’s a Thursday, my money comes at the Friday and right now my account balance is -49,50:-. Yeah, a negative figure. Gosh. Don’t know yet how I’m gonna afford the trip and everything, but I’ll guess I figure something out. I usually do. Maybe I could arrange an interview or something. Well, we’ll see. Until then, pop that body! And yeah, as a bonus on the lollipop-theme, the Cali rapper Sirealz’s interpretation of the Lil’ Wayne-song. Production signed by BP. I might as well put up this good old Bamabounce remix. Pop Pop Pop! |
