_081124: Welcome to Heartbreak

So, the day finally came, so many good releases out today, let’s begin with one of the most anticipated, the one with that crumpled red heart shaped balloon on the cover. I don’t like balloons, they smell kinda funky. Speaking about that cover, the alternate Special Christmas packaging/iTunes one, with large Disney-ish hands tearing the heart apart signed Kaws looks way better than the original. But I must say, I love "808’s and Heartbreak" from the very beginning 'til the Pinocchio Story in the end.

Hence that auto tune on every single track. Don’t know, now I actually think it suits the record very well. Have I gone immune perhaps? This album worked my every nerve on the paper, just to begin with; it’s KanYe West we’re talking about. A man I felt nothing but despise for in the past, but now he has managed the sort of impossible task, to make me like him. Sure, I’m still annoyed by several things regarding KanYeezy but they seem so small in comparison to how much I actually enjoy this record. "808’s and Heartbreak" is an emotional ride in 12 tracks, mostly on the topic of heartaches and pain, almost too serious for me, I know, but somehow it works.

My current fave track is Street Lights, Fridays I walked off the tram, it was early in the morning, cold as hell, sunny and a perfect winter day more or less, it came on in my pink earphones and what did I do? I started to cry out of happiness. Oh yes I did. Everything was just perfect in that very moment.

Another one I feel a bit more for right now is Welcome to Heartbreak with Kid Cudi, absolutely love the production on that one, it’s wonderful and my guess is it’s that sound Wiley currently searching for but never seems to get it right. A third is Say You Will that Pong-sound in the background makes the whole track. Clever clever work mr. West.

I doubt that KanYe’s next album will have any resemblance to this at all but plz KanYe, keep doing things like this, sing instead of borrowing shit from Daft Punk for example. Speaking of Stronger for that matter, KanYe just released a mixtape called "Sky High (A We Got the Remix Special Edition)" with DJ Benzi and Plain Pat to promote this new album (even if there’s just one of the 808’s tracks on it) with several nyce remixes of his previous work and among them, A-Trak’s remix of that song and others by Nick Catchdubs, Eli Escobar, Scottie B, Diplo, Benzi, and DiscoTech to name a few. One of the most interesting remixes of that mixtape thou is definitely DJ Godfather’s of Can’t Tell Me Nothing. Anyway, that mixtape is the perfect way for me to digest the old KanYe I didn’t like.

Here’s also Bashy’s take on Love Lockdown a bit rougher and way more stupid, but still very loveable.

_081123: The Case: Wiley

Oh my, Wiley has totally lost it on the RWD-forum during the weekend and it cracks me up big time. It’s a shame I can’t laugh properly due to the pain in my stomach from the pilates class Fridays (seriously, pilates is such good training, I thought it was bogus, but this pain proves me hella wrong). Referring to Wiley’s MySpace-player he has teamed up with Wretch 32, a good collabo and I hope that Wretch will teach Wiley a thing or two about punctuation coz his posts are just so fucking messed up, but well, the message sort of stands clear in this one, Wiley is now ready to do interviews:

Please Any1 Who Wants Do Interviews Holla At Me

ESKIKID79@HOTMAIL.CO.UK IM READY TO DO INTERVIEWS FROM NOW TILL THE END OF MY CAREER IM READY ITS TIME TO TALK COS I AM GONNA BE A BIG ARTIST IN ENGLAND BUT I NEED TO WAIT TILL JAN 1ST THEN IM GONNA DO MY THING EVERYBODY MUSICALLY FEAR ME NOW ITS ON FOR ANY ARTIST FROM MY SCENE YOUR SCENE ANY SCENE SKEPTA ANY1 BRUV MY MUSIC WILL BE BETTER THAN ANY CHALLENGER WATCH AND DONT THINK I DONT MEAN GRIME EITHER EVERYBOY IS DEAD EVERYBODY

Not a day too late and it sounds rather interesting, doesn’t it? Wonder if he will talk about _everything_ (but I guess the topic: Dizzee always will be off the table) or just how great he is? It seems like he suffers of a severe case of megalomania. Then he also announces that the album "Race Against Time" will be out the 9th of March, well, we’ll see about that wont we? ("See Clear Now" is still due for release the 8th of December according to HMV). Then, last but not least, two posts regarding Cash In My Pocket:

Im Saying This To Every1 Who Likes Cash In My Pocket There Is A Problem Since I Done The Track Some Idiot From The Label Decided He Would Take A Grime Lyric From Another Tune And Slow It Right Down And Try To Fit It In The Tune It Sounds So Shit Ive Jus Heard It Now Im Goin On Every Radio Station To Talk About That Is A Disrespect To Me And My Musical Style We Dont Do Shit Like This It Sounds Rediculous And Im Very Angry That Some1 Has Done This Even If I Go High In The Charts I Will Wipe This Shit Version Of Cash In My Pocket Out Of My Mind And See You In The New Year When I Will Be Back With My Own Creative Control Instead Of Ben Cook Or John Woolf Or Any Prick Who Does Silly Things Like Adding A 145 Bpm Lyric Down To A Band Played Tune With A Much Slower Tempo I Cant Even Listen To It I Will Never Accept This Ever John Woolf You Are The Worse Manager On Earth Nick Detnon Would Piss On You I Advise Artists To Stay Away From John Woolf He Does Shit That You Would Want To Kill Him For Believe Me I Want To Kill Him Amongst Others If He Was Infront Of Me Now I Would Empty A Whole Clip At Him For Doin This Stupid Cash In My Pocket 3rd Verse Mockery Please God Save Me Realtalk I Said It

And the other:

Mark Ronson Must Of Felt How I Felt Thats Why He Didnt Wanna Do The Video

Now You See What Type Of Idiots This Label Are Making Me Sound Incapable Please Forget This Tune As Quick As Poss If You Can I Cant Hear That Version With A Fake 3rd Verse And I Will Never As Long As Im Alive Perform This Song With That 3rd Verse Init Trust Me Ahhh If You Knew How Mad I Am Right Now Watch The Video For The 1st Time And Its That Shit Version Of The Tune John Woolf I Am Gonna Get You I Promise 1 Day You Will Pay For This You Tramp I Hate You

Im Too Good On The Mic For Some1 To Do That To Me Bruv Too Good That Sloppy Sounding Refix Is Killing Me I Jus Wanna Die Now Im Goin Mad You Know What Im Goin On Holiday And When That Tunes Done Its Course I Will Come Back Dont Even Talk To Me About That Tune Ever I Will Smash Up Ur Car If You Even Say To Me Wiley I Love That Cash In My Pocket Tune John Woolf Is .............

WRETCH 32, HOLL AT UR BOY! He needs ur help! REDiciolus... I love u Wiley! (I’m sorry for joking about this, he’s obviously very angry and probably got dyslexia or something, again, I’m sorry). However, that’s not all from the Wiley-files nonono, here’s something I got tipped off in the comment section above, but it’s not finished, not edited but it doesn’t matter really, I laughed all the way through:

I’m sorry, but it looks like when someone makes fun of hiphop, the bad way and I don’t think that’s the case here, this is serious, but I simply can’t stop laughing, oh my poor stomach. And the frown on Wiley’s forehead, yeah, I understand why.

Speaking of Wretch 32 for that matter, here’s the remix of his current single Be Cool from the album "Wretchrospective", it’s alright, but I still miss the old state of grime.

Ps. The best comment on RWD for a long time, posted by Long1: Wiley, u should do a remake of.... 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland' N release it in the summer.

_081120: Off. Ca$h In My Pocket

Sorry for the silence the past days, been some rough days in my life, but well, let’s get back on track. Wiley’s new video for Cash In My Pocket has landed and now y’all think I’m gonna complain my sorry ass off, but well, I’m actually not. Big up Wiley for doing something interesting, smart and funny!

This video is everything Summertime wasn’t. Even if I’m not that fond of the track or Wiley’s new adaptation to mainstream it’s more than alright. The single, which lands the 1st of December, may be a perfect Christmas gift for my parents. This is so typical their taste in music it’s ridiculous, both mami’s and daddy-o’s. No my parents aren’t stupid stofils listening to crap, they are both really up to date music wise actually.

One thing, I don’t understand thou is why this is released the 1st of December and She’s Glowing not until the 23rd of February? Wont the glow and hype about that track be all gone by that time?

.mp3: Wiley ft. Kano and Ghetto - She's Glowing (Remix) (YSI) // (zShare)

_081117: So Wack, Take Me Back

The urban UK-music scene is in a small chock right now. Why? Well the 6th annual UMA-awards that was held this weekend at the indigO2 arena in London had to get called off by the organizers due to some thuggish ruggish brawl; champagne bottles were flying through the air, as well as chairs and according to SKY news three people was stabbed. A man in his 20's is now lying at the hospital in a critical condition. Sounds like some b- horror/action-movie but it’s not, it’s real and well, so immature and unnecessary. Police are interviewing hundreds of people who attended the show and one man has been arrested.

Bashy, who was nominated in two UMA-categories, among them "Most Inspiring Act of 2008" (which he never had a chance to make out if he won or not due to the cancellation of the show) is releasing his new mixtape today called "Bashy.com". I love Ashley Thomas, I really do, but unfortunately his voice is starting to get the best of me, dunno, I sort of get irritated of it since I’ve listened to his previous mixtapes "Ur Mum Vol. 1" and "The Chupa Chups" a bit too much in the past. But at the same time, I can’t hate on Bashy, We Got Links oh my, I still got mad love for that tune.

But well, another thing that’s bugging me out about this new release is the fact that there is no valid bashy.com-site. Type the addy in ur browser and yeah, zipp zero nothing. It’s those little things that complete throws me off. If u do something, u do it _all_ the way, u don’t small-pussy (yeah, this is a direct translation of the Swedish word 'småfitta', it’s not a good translation at all, I know, but I’m tired okay?!), what I’m trying to say, if u do something, do it proper people. "Souljaboytellem.com" is both a title and a valid addy, all I’m saying.

But well, the big Bish Bash Bosh hasn’t lost his humor so there’s still hope and his take on KanYe's Love Lockdown called Man At Home is really really good, as well as Not Dem and the remix with Wiley on Do U Mind and here’s his take on Tinchy’s Stryderman:

Personally I’m sooo over the superhero-hype right now but Tinchy actually won the UMA "Best Music Video of 2008" for that and speaking of little Tinch for that matter, another release that was supposed to be out today was his and Maniac's EP "Tinchy Stryder vs. Maniac", but it’s delayed with one week (new date: the 24th) since there was a glitch with the CD (a track came back silent).

Tinchy also announced yesterday that his new single called Take Me Back will be released January 19th 2009 and will feature Taio Cruz. I really like it, even if it’s popish and upbeat and a quite good step away from proper grime. It’s definitely a hit and I wouldn’t raise my eyebrows if the Swedish radio picked this up. It's typical Swedish Radio P3-material, right out of the text book basically.

_081116: The Bomb Like Tic Tic

Lil’ Wayne’s "Dedication 3" mixtape was released Fridays and seriously, it’s good! Not just only the fact that for the first time in DJ Drama’s entire mixtape history he has managed to pull off a decent (it’s actually more than decent, looks really clean and sharp) cover on one of his releases, no, music wise it’s also more than just another mixtape sounding and looking the same as every other mixtape out there.

The fastest way to get a hit these days seems to be to borrow something from Weezy and then it’s easy as 1 2 3, like this Tic Tic from 16 year old DayDay Washington aka. Kashmir ft. Kodak. Without that Weezy-part from Got Money I doubt that the track had reached my ears, therefore its so nyce to see that this is a reciprocity thing. Weezy, the self proclaimed greatest rapper alive borrows from young minor rappers like V.I.C.’s Get Silly, Lil’ Wil’s My Dougie and from Soulja Boy and so on on the "Dedication 3". That’s how u make hip hop alive, a full circle.

Apparently (according to MTV), the re-release of "Tha Carter III" will be with "none of the same songs" as the original release, but with the same "Carter III" title. The reason for this is that Weezy wants "Tha Carter IV" to be "what everyone wants "Tha Carter IV" to be" coz the album he has ready is something "brand new" and "experimental", and he said that "some people are not gonna like this, and I don't want them to not like "Tha Carter IV"".

Soooo, instead of releasing the album under "Tha Carter IV" title, Wayne said he plans to release it as; "Tha Carter III: The Rebirth", the birth of a new beginning. Usually I hate this thing when rappers should explore new things like they are the reincarnation of Vasco da Gama, but as I’ve learned, it can be positive, just look at the KanYe-case, so it sounds interesting and as long as he keeps away from rock-rap I’m good. According to KanYe who’s gonna be featured on the 're-release' it will be out around Christmas.

_081115: Guilty As Charged

This was yet another of them songs of Gym Class Heroes album "The Quilt" that was good just cause of the featuring guest. Others were of course Cookie Jar ft. The Dream and Don't Tell Me It's Ove with Weezy and Dre for example. I don’t have any love for Gym Class at all, without their guests they’re rubbish, some overrated NY-crap basically. But I got huge love for Estelle playing the part as a foxy chick from the '70's in this, even if the video concept is just as worn out as the bootcut.

_081115: Get 'Em Windows

You broke my heart, So I broke ya car
You caused me pain, So I did the same

Yeah, the logic of heartache is never easy and I never seem to get rid of my love for Jazmine Sullivan's Bust Your Windows. I still get goose bumps when I hear them violins signed Salaam Remi in the intro and it won’t stop for a while since all good remixes just keeps flying in. This new with The Dream is like the perfect blend between Jazmine's own and Trey Songz male cover-version Bust My Windows, also love the Gorilla Zoe take on it but the best of the bunch right now definitely comes from the Baltimore duo Get 'Em Mamis.

Ever since their The Ooh Ahh Song got featured on The Wire and When You See Us got featured on the official soundtrack for the series my love for Roxzi and Symph has been a bare fact. To cover old girly hits such as L'Trimm's Cars That Go Boom, JJ Fad's Supersonic, Salt'n'Pepa's Push It and MC Lyte's 10% Dis is nothing new but Get 'Em Mamis make the songs their own and update them to the pace of 2008 with their warp-speed rhymes.

Some months ago their mixtape "Material Girls" surfaced, produced by Darkroom Productions, who created much of the music from The Wire. The mixtape features the duo rhyming over beats that sample both fresh and dated songs from the original get 'em mami; Madonna. Speaking of The Wire btw, the complete series-box is finally gonna be released, 8th and 9th December is the date.

_081115: I Do It For Hip Hop, I Do

I know how juvenile this sounds, but well, may so be it, I miss the Luda from "Word of Mouf" and "Chicken and Beer", the Luda who made MTV and BET shit ice cubes when they saw that video for Pussy Poppin’. I miss Luda teaming up with Shawnna. When he was the champ of the South. I care shit about serious hip hop. It bores me out. Oh no, I didn’t! But oh yes I did. Nas for example should sell his ass to some famous sleeping pill company coz it’s just what he is, a nyce slogan might be: "Nas! Pop one and sleep for years".

I Do It For Hip Hop is the newest leak from "Theatre of the Mind" and oh my, u don’t need Nas on that one to put u to sleep, Luda’s part is just fine. Best of the brady bunch is def Hova, Hova can pull this old school shit off. Let old school be old school, let new music be new, the salvation for hip hop is not to be a retrospective reactionary twat like Ice T. Com on Luda, u used to run this shit, pick up the pace! Well, "Theater of the Mind" will be in stores the 24th and the concept of the new album is quite funny idea; to infuse Luda’s both careers and have the featuring guests labeled as co-stars and hopefully the rest of it won’t suck as much as this does. What Them Girls Like with Chris Breezy and Sean Garrett is still good and that Last Of A Dying Breed with Weezy is also fire and hopefully Nasty Girl with Plies will show the good dirty old Luda. Hopefully. He still got it, his verse on the new joint called Creepin’ (Solo) from Chamilionaire's upcoming album "Venom" (will be released in December) is proof enough.

Swizz Beatz is also walking in those retrospective footsteps as his still unreleased second studio album (was supposed to be out last month) probably gonna be called "Remember Hip Hop" or "Life After The Party" and hopefully he'll chose the latter. Here’s something new with almost the same title as the new Luda minus some words and with the big difference that this sounds like the good old 2004-2005 but with a twist of 2008. This is how I like it, banging _good_ music.

_081112: KanYeezy and Weezy

Boom, there it was. The first listen was not as good as I hoped but as my expectations were sky high it’s not that strange, it’s actually not that bad either. I guess it will grow huge on me. Love that KanYe actually sings so hard that his voice cuts out on him. At least _one_ good thing to wake up to. Have like 10 workers outside my window tearing up the pavement, I’m ill, my head is falling into a million pieces, got a major chocolate craving, just cancelled my appointment with my personal trainer and feel, yeah really weak and shitty. I’m gonna go back to bed and watch the new episode of Fringe (I loved Alias but Fringe is just half as good, but better than nothing).

Ehrm, after 3 more listings, what the hell am I talking about? Obviously I can’t think clearly, I blame my illness, but this is _so_ good! Just Weezy's voice, smoot as a babies buttox. Pure love.

.mp3: KanYe West ft. Lil' Wayne - Tell Everybody That You Know (YSI) // (zShare)

_081112: Amazing Bacon

The title of this new KanYe leak says it all; Amazing. It’s amazing, so amazing, so amazing. Yeezy and Jeezy at their best. Young Jeezy’s drawling voice fits the track perfectly. My hopes for that track Tell Everybody That You Know/See You In My Nightmares (the actual track name is pending between different retailers tracklists) ft. Lil’ Wayne are, after hearing this, sky high. Simply can’t fail.

What’s also amazing is this new Philly heat from Crossfaded Bacon, Emynd and Young Chris, a track called We Don’t Give A... mixed and mastered by Starkey. It rubs me just the right way as it got absolutely everything! Horns, nastiness, claps, its dance floor friendly and totally cranked out, party music all the way, the whole shebang so to speak.

_081111: Wordy Rappinghood

I’m having a rather interesting argumentation on FaceBook with a male friend who hates that the Swedish language has been so influenced by the English with all borrowed words and so on. Almost every girl he talks to sounds like Victoria Silvstedt (the best mix of Swenglish there is) tossing in a bit of English everywhere. I’m on the pro side (of course, since the Silvstedt-effect is a nasty habit of mine) and since the Swedish language lacks many sayings, we live in a globalized world and English is more or less universal. My last year at Uni all I read was English literature, which made me also think in English, the adaptation is inevitable esp. when all u hear is English. And does it really have to be out of evil?

Now I prefer reading books in English. For example (and here’s a simple one) to read Valerie Solana’s "S.C.U.M-manifesto" in Swedish is totally unnecessary since the translation is a whole different story than the original one. I’ve read 'em both and many parts and important small things are missing in the Swedish one coz they doesn’t translate into Swedish; there are no Swedish words to put on that are correct.

But there are a couple of things I do hate about this. First the bad habit of writing two-part words apart. In English u do, in Swedish u don’t but this is a thing that has been happing avalanche-like lately in the press, blogs and other Swedish reading material.

The other is to make the English into Swedish such as the words 'dejt' instead using of the proper 'date' (the actual Swedish word is 'träff') or 'mejl' of 'mail' (where the actual Swedish word is 'post' or 'e-post' if ur picky). The worst and freshest one of the bunch is the Swedish-ation of 'stalking' with a short first 'a' in and a long 'l' and 'k'. The word was introduced on the News a couple of weeks ago and caused an outrage among the watchers. But the Swedish Word Academy had come to the conclusion that is was the proper use of the word. The actual word for 'stalking' in Swedish is 'förfölja' and why oh why not use the proper Swedish word instead of inventing something new out of the English-one or use the borrowed English word correctly? Why make it more difficult than is needs to be?

Why I’m rambling about this like crazy is the bare fact that Adam Tensta mixes both English and a little Swedish in his bars of this new single from Stor called Stockholmsnatt. Need I say that I absolutely love it?

The regular 'guzz/göt/para'-lingo in Swedish hip hop is a bit overdue for my taste but I like Stor anyway. But the level-gap between him and like Adam Tensta really shows in this. Stockholmsnatt is from Stor’s upcoming mixtape with the same name, produced by Masse and also features vocals from Danjah. I’m waiting for a brutal version of this one; but for now u’ll have to cope with the original.

_081111: Too Many Slaps

This Monday has been a total drag; slept badly all thanks to my new awful neighbor, my throat is all sore and swollen, I’m also kinda sad (no idea why really), it’s been raining cats and dogs the whole day and yeah, no fun at all basically. This video however always gets my mood back on track no matter how off road I am, big up my little brother who introduced me to this masterpiece;

A little work of genius isn’t it? Speaking of slaps for that matter, this new track from Boy Better Know called I Slapped Your Girl has emerged, yes, it’s a rework of The Dream's I Luv Your Girl and seriously, I don’t know where I stand on this one. Why suddenly this juvenile attitude of bare idiots and proper waste men? The lyrics, like come on, u can do better! Kinda are on the same level as that Girl Better Blow-t-shirt. Or well, personally I’m not that fond of joking about men beating women (in any way other than pure sexual slaps but well that’s a whole different story) since it’s a quite serious real life problem. I’ve seen that shit a bit too up close and it’s nothing fun about it, so the lyrics are kinda... tasteless in my eyes.

But I’m also aware that I may take things too literally I know and I also know for a fact that at least JME is one hell of nyce guy so no worries and the lyrics are a bit witty but either way, kinda clashes with the greatness of Too Many Man doesn’t it? But I’m not gonna lie, if truth be told I found myself humming to this when I cooked dinner earlier so I guess it works and that ignorance is bliss?

Yeah like I said, Too Many Man is so damn good but I got 3 good wishes for the BBK crew. First, that they would realize that Frisco is bringing them down. The levels of his rap is just _too_ nasal. Yeah who am I to talk but I’m actually willing to start a fundraiser to get enough money so Frisco can get rid of his polyps or whatever causing that nasal thing coz it’s so annoying to listen to him when it's more than a couple of bars. Second, I’m still (impatiently) waiting for Skepta’s "Microphone Champion" and that Boy Better Know album called "V.I.P." so get ur cocks out of whatever hole they’re working and get down to buiz and get them albums out on the shelves. My third and last wish is that Skeppy would stop to rep them Ed Hardy clothes. Why? It’s quite easy, they’re so damn ugly.

What did the five fingers said to the face? Yeah, I better stop running my mouth or I might probably already have deserved a good slap in my silly little mug so I’m better off to my comfy bed.

_081110: Tonight's Beast

Jay Sean recently got singed with Lil’ Wayne’s Cash Money Records and Cash Money will now re-release his album "My Own Way" the 1st of December (in the UK, the official date for the US is sometime in spring of 2009) filled with some new material. As a proper introduction to the American market the album will be accompanied by a remix ft. Lil’ Wayne of this brand new single called Tonight which also will be the lead single of the new release. Love the original (prod. by J Remy and Bobby Bass) so I guess the remix with Weezy will be good? They usually are. And people, the official video looks proper!

Btw, while we are on the topic of UK-males and proper videos, peep this new one from Chipmunk ft. Louick Essien called Beast (also out the 1st of December). The video actually outshines the track. Personally I think the track is rather boring, it lacks something that makes it special, something special like the video or it just needs a couple of more listings? But I doubt the latter. The chorus is OK but that’s pretty much it, Chipmunk is really weak in this.

_081109: Fuller Tribal Drums

I’ve spend this lovely weekend indoor-pussy-style with some small work and climbing one huge mountain; trying to get through all of my inboxes and the tons of unread and unreplied mail I got stacked up. I got unread ones from like back in May... Get the picture? So, I like to apologize to all of u that I haven’t replied yet, now u at least know why. Other than that, I’m still trapped inside this KanYeezy-bubble and I can’t get out of it, esp. not now since he posted yet another version of Love Lockdown with a new mix and master (love the fact that KanYe is just as anal retentive as myself work wise) as well as that remix with Pharris and Kellz innit and on that auto-tune.

_081108: Smash and Grab

Was just about to choke on a satsumas wedge when I saw this, it’s freaking amazing! I know, this week I’ve been complaining an awful lot on videos but I got _nothing_ on this. Proper work Goldie!

That hand crawling around, some scary shit. Anyway, Smash and Grab produced by the almighty Semothy Jones (no one else) will be on an EP GoldieLocks’ releasing on vinyl/download before Christmas. Speaking of ms Goldie, she does not only make good music for herself, she’s hot in the producing game as well, remember Stereotype with Tinchy? She has also done a lot of work for MissOddKidd such as her debut single Don’t Be Afriad To Sweat which was finally released Mondays with Locked On. The single contains (aside from the original and the accapella) a remix from Drop the Lime and another banging track called Sperm Donor along with Black Affair. Buy the it over here.

_081108: History in the Making

My generation wasn’t even born when the first man visited the moon, we weren’t around when the telly got colored and we have missed a lot of big steps for the mankind but this with Obama, that’s certainly something to tell the grandchildren. We were there when the white house was painted black. Yeah I know, I’m starting to sound like jay-Z on that whole "Obama's Running So We All Can Fly"–speech he made at Virginia Union College in Richmond, but its so nyce to be around when actually history is in the making. History that means something. Not superficial and shallow, but _real_ history.

Hova’s History is produced by KanYe (here we go again, this KanYe craze has taken over this site, completely, hopefully I will go back to my regular "I hate KanYe"-side soon), and to be frank, love the production more than Jay-Z’s rap on this. That sampling of Une Nuit sur son épaule by Marc Lavoine and Véronique Sanson is so cheesy it’s actually becomes good.

Btw, speaking of hip-hop and Obama, if u haven’t seen when Dizzee made probably the most interesting interview of Paxman’s whole career at Newsnight some days ago, don’t miss it for the world, def a piece of history going on:

Probably not the sharpest knife in the box but Dizzee is just being plain Dizzee, I can’t hate on him like some other after that speech. I just can’t coz he make some good points and Dizz as the PM in England would be quite interesting.

Btw, that video floating around showing Obama dancing to Dance Wiv’ Me is a fake one, he was actually dancing to Beyoncé on that Ellen-show. Just so u know.

_081107: Get Up and Rotoscoping

Never been a bigger fan of rotoscoping (the animation technique in which animators trace over live-action film movement, frame by frame) always thought that it looks like when u make a photography into an 'illustration' in Adobe Illustrator, just a bit too fake. But it sort of suits the official video of Heartless perfectly:

But the best thing with this is the little arty thingees that are incorporated such as the 3 pics of Andy Warhole’s Campbells soups and the homage payed to Hanna Barbera with The Jetsons. Good work Hype Williams!

Btw, I think it’s so nyce that there won’t be an official throw down this year between KanYe and 50 as they both releases new material. Last year’s was so... unnecessary? Never understood those things, like, competition is okay but way make a race between things that are so different, yeah they both do hip hop but there’s like their only similarity. Here’s the official video for 50’s Get Up.

Love the fact that 50 Cent described the upcoming album called "Before I Self Destruct" (slated for release the 16th of December) as "darker" and more "aggressive" than his previous release. Just too bad that the video doesn’t makes Get Up justice in any way.

Stumbled over two really nyce remixes of Heartless, one more on the grimy side and the other a bit more electrical and Drunkapella-ish. Think that's more than enough out of the KanYeezy-files for the time being.

_081107: A Lockdown Experiment

The Grace Jones effect at the MTV EMA’s 2008 was quite noticeable. First Beyoncé’s horrible shoulder pads which I talked about in the previous post and then, as the time went by, they seem to slipped downwards and placed themselves on to the blue dress Estelle sported when she performed American Boy with KanYe:

Speaking of KanYe btw, didn’t he look a bit strange on stage? His face was all puffy? Or was it just an effect from all the white?

But I haven’t grown tired of Love Lockdown yet, it just grows and grows on me, esp. when all dope remixes keep flying in, here’s my current fave from Lunice who did that amazing job on V.I.C.’s Wobble if u remember? He calls it the Love Lockdown Experiment and here’s the explanation he gave me:

the reason why I call this my "experiment" is because I wanted to remix something that is intended to a whole different group of listeners while introducing to the people the kind of experimental glitch hop bass club banger music I make and "Love Lockdown" proved itself to be the best subject for this test. So where I'm getting at with this is that this remix is to show how my style of sounds (lazerap, glitch hop, street bass, whatever people call it haha) can also be on a legit "radio-ready" steez! And also it'll be a way to slowly introduce those "new sounds" to that particular group of listeners who never heard of this "lazerap" stuff going on with us dudes (lazer sword, megasoid, hovatron, nosaj, edIT, Hudson Mohawke and so on).

So I was just wondering since you're talking about Kanye's interesting renewal of style, this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce these "new sounds" in this mix. And the reason why I say this is because people are still figuring out what exactly is going on with Kanye's new style haha and the same goes for the kind of experimental lazer club bangers I make, people are taking a step back and trying to catch what exactly is going on.

If u buy into that or not really doesn’t matter, just have a listen and u’ll understand what he means. Let me just say, the track is amazing!

_081106: A Stormtrooper On Crack

I didn’t got my education from MTV, we didn’t even had MTV at home until I was like 19? Neither had my best friends so that’s why we’re quite excited over the VMA’s and other award shows. But as we all know, the MTV EMA’s is overshadowed by the real gala, the VMA’s so to spice things up easiest way possible, me and my best friend invented a silly tradition, texting each other as some 14 year old girls back and forth. Here’s some excerpts from the early stage of tonight’s text-race:

Jared Leto looks exactly the same way he did when he was in "My so-called Life", even got the same red ugly grunge flannel shirt.

Yeah, it’s so tragic really, he should grow up and get himself a proper haircut

Queen Beyoncé enters the stage...

What the fuck’s is B wearing? Is she trying to be a storrmtrooper on crack or something?

Agree, I’m so disappointed; she used to have style, this creation is a big big nono.

Here’s what we were talking about, seriously, who designed this for her? I bet it was expensive as hell:

But well, I bet her upcoming double disc "I Am... Sasha Fierce" featuring herself and the alter ego Sasha Fierce will be way more fiercer than her look tonight, just 12 days until we all see how fierce it is (drops the 18th). Radio certainly is, produced by Jim Jonsin and D-Town. The If I Were A Boy remix with Lee Carr isn’t that bad either, better than the original that's for sure.

_081106: Ball In The Club

Jim Jones diss and parody of Swagga Like Us was so generic and tedious, that’s why I refused to post it. Plain boring, just waste of time and space. But this video for the first official single Pop Champange from his forth studio album "Pray IV Reign" (drops the 9th of December) feels like a parody as well. Love the track, the production by Ron Browz is more than good, but the video...

It's directed by Ali B. and Thi Chien and even thou it features cameo appearances by Dame Dash, Busta Rhymes and the whole Byrd Gang crew it feels like when some middle aged rocker should do something new and flirt with hip-hop. I know, it’s just a damn video, why must I analyze and complain of them all the time? But come on, why put shit like this together at all? Why not make a proper one? Why make a video if ur gonna make shitty ones just for the sake of it? Personally I would have enjoyed girls bathing in life sized champagne glasses or something, old school burlesque but with a twist, but that’s just me.

But well, the album is propably gonna turn out quite nyce, I'm curious about Frienemies which is a song that reportedly addresses Jones strained relationships with Cam'ron and Max B, so well, I let this one pass?

_081106: Go Obamabounce Looney

I’m not gonna say much about it, cuz frankly, I’m a bit fed up with today’s news that Obama won. But I actually shed a tear when he made his victory speech early this morning Swedish time, it was one special moment that’s for sure. Go Obama, will be really interesting to see what he can accomplish in the next 4 years. Let me just say that I’m quite sad that Bamabounce didn’t do a banging track to ride along with the hype of this election, everyone was doing it but he was certainly one the most suited for it. Easy as 1 2 3 just put an O in the beginning of the name and that one would have become an instant hit. But well, nuff of Obama for the time being.

HotStylz almost brings everything I love to the table. Simplicity, sleaze, snap, reworked nursery rhymes and wittiness but foremost they bring humor. The lyrics on Lookin’ Boy were hilarious esp. the remix with Kellz and Yo Mama wasn’t that bad either. What’s bad thou is the whole Doo Doo Records thing which btw almost has the same logo as Dirtee Stank; a brown turd.

I don’t know, but if u would look up the word 'Poo' in my dictionary it’s not described as a good sense of humor nor good joking material. It’s definitely not a good imagery too use as a logotype for ur record company. Ok, I might get the vision behind Dirtee Stank’s with the flies hovering and all that, but really, it’s still an ugly turd which looks like a cinnamon roll gone terribly wrong. I hate people talking about their poo for that matter, their toilet buiz and the state of their large intestine. I don’t wanna know the content of ur stomach, if ur hard or having the runs, I’m not Gillian McKieth! One thing that annoys the hell out of me atm is that poo becomes a bigger blog topic day by day now here in Sweden for some girls and I really don’t get it. Why the fuzz, why the stress, why the big issue? It is what it is, shit. But despite HotStylz' shitty taste I just love this new track called Go Looney.

_081104: Save Ur Soul

This new video from M.I.A. ft. DJ BlaqStarr is a perfect example on how u make a good looking video with a small budget. All u need is a great eye, some good ideas and the knowhow:

This one below, by Ribz and Skepta is a classic school book example on a bad video, I assume it has a low budget aswell but probably (and sadly by the poor outcome) it cost more than the $9.95 M.I.A. spend on hers:

Like I said before when this first surfaced, I like this track, I really do but the video ruins it, completely. People, get one thing, don’t mix fonts. Certainly not fugly fonts. Especially ban 'Times', 'Comic Sans' and 'Impact' from all ur work, at least if u want to be taken seriously.

_081104: Heartbreak Hotel

KanYe should have lots of kudos since he walked against the rest of the jokers of the music scene and actually pushed the release of "808s and Heartbreak" three weeks earlier from the original release date. The reason: because he wanted to release the music as soon as possible. That’s doing things on a serious note. Proper work and I’m def appreciating it. KanYe has done the impossible with this album, he has made me like him. My old followers of this site all know just how much I hated his guts before, so well done KanYe.

Anyway, I’m finally back in Gothenburg, it’s not as cold as in Hultsfred, there’s no snow just fog deluxe. It’s strange to be back. I miss my fam and grannie. My grannie turns 70 on Thursday, tips for a well suited gift are welcome. Well suited means; no trips and nothing too expensive, I’m a broke ass hoe. The reason I came to think of her is that I just saw on the news that Obama’s grannie passed away yesterday. Please let him win the election, all my readers in the States, GO VOTE! Keep in mind, McCain can’t talk properly.

Yeah, Election Day in the States today, and I’m actually gonna follow it to the last man standing, last man, Obama that is, there is no other option. Well, I can only hope, here’s one of the most eagerly awaited tracks from "808s and Heartbreak" Anyway ft. Kid Cudi.

_081103: Still Dynamite

When Ms Dynamite addressed her comeback from her looong break from the music scene when she co-hosted BBC 1Xtra Breakfast along with Tervor Nelson in September I certainly was a very happy camper. Her third album is on its way and will land in early 2009. And now, when DJ Semtex premiered her upcoming single Bad Gyal some weeks ago I’m ecstatic, as it’s probably the best that has come out from her lips since like forever. Production is done by the almighty Sticky who sort of launched her career back in 2001 when they collaborated on the monster hit Boo!. Her previous album "Judgment Day" was a bit too r’n’b-ish for my taste, but You Don’t Have To Cry with Lil’ Wayne is still a very good track.

Btw, Weezy F Baby also suffered from the death-rumors yesterday as he supposedly:

"was involved in an altercation with members of rival gang the ‘Crips’, and brutally shot 6 times with a semi automatic 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun Paramedics rushed to the scene and attempted to resuscitate the rapper, however were unable to prevent colossal blood losses and Dwayne Carter was pronounced dead at 02:36 Am shortly after arriving at Tulane University Hospital".

But yeah, it’s _not_ true. Seriously, can someone give this stupid kid a lesson? Uh, I need to pack my clothes, then head over to my grannie before I take the 6 hr long train ride back to Gothenburg. Ps. Yeah, the Bad Gyal-track below is a radiorip, still a banger so give it a listen, but blame the annoying sounds on Semtex, not me.

_081103: The Death of Wiley

Oh my. The worst prank ever must be to tell that someone has died when they actually are alive. Like the situation that occurred a few hours ago regarding Wiley. The rumor started to spread like a fire via a website who looked exactly like the BBC-news page on the surface but if u dig deeper (aside from the referring addy) u see that’s it’s just a fake site with a feature where anyone can type their own news-story and publish it. Hence this ridiculous and untrue Wiley-story;

"Officers were called to Hackney at about 2200 GMT after reports of a disturbance.

They found 29-year-old Richard Cowie in an alleyway behind Cheshire Road. He had been stabbed several times. Police believe that an argument had taken place as shouting was heard by witnesses. Cowie, from Bow, was taken to Hospital where he later died. Police are appealling for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Aaron Johnson said: "We have now put high visibility patrols in place, including community contact points and we have set up confidential telephone lines. "We will be working throughout the night with community leaders to ensure that people in the area still feel safe, and that the killers are caught" Anyone with any information on Cowies murder is asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
"

I’m not gonna link the site in question coz the person who runs it probably ears _a lot_ by the clickrate. Seriously, u can joke about almost everything but death is one topic that’s always of the table. _Always_. Even if it comes to Wiley. Shame on whoever posted that shit, really low and tasteless. Where are ur manners? Wiley greets via his MySpace that’s he’s alive and that She’s Glowin’ will be out the 23rd of February.

And yeah, I got a confession to make, yesterday when I was domestic deluxe and cooking family dinner I found myself humming to... Cash In My Pocket! Yepp. It’s official, I’ve lost it. Completely. Here’s the legit version of the track, not the radio rip but a radio rip of the title track of "See Clear Now" ft. Kano and Scorch. It’s better than Money In My Pocket by far, but still annoying just like the stress related rashes I got on my upper arms atm. Need to catch some sleep now as I’m going back to Gothenburg later today. I don’t wanna go back, since the tragedy Thursdays I just wanna chill with my fam, I can’t handle death and I’m so afraid of losing more people I care about.

_081102: Climb That Pole

I’ve only been to a strip club once in my life. It was in Londres and me and my friend were club hopping overload and suddenly we needed to pee really badly and basically went to the place with the shortest line. When we were heading in the bouncer stopped us, analyzed me from head to toe and simply said: I wanna hire u . Don’t know if it was my total horrible mismatch (just the mix with both Adidas and Nike at the same time, big nooooooooooo, I looked like hell basically) that tickled his fancy or what he was on but he blinked at me really cheesy and let us in free of charge. And no, it wasn’t like u would imagine, like the girls of Bada Bing with thongs cut high as in Bay Watch or with old fat men masturbating-light and u didn’t need an umbrella to hide from money rain or suspect body fluids... The men were fancy dressed in ties and suits, all like 27-35 years old and the girls were... pussy on poles. For real. All that u could see was pussy. In other words u might say it was welcome to the wonderland? We were the only girls at the place except for the working ones so we quickly headed for the toilet (in other words the girls gossip- and dressing room) and all of them was so cute, nyce and smelled like strawberries. Seriously, and this may sound so skanky to some of u readers, but I wouldn’t mind working at a stripper club. Easy money for just showing off ur goods, I rather work as a stripper than someone’s personal housekeeper for example. Now domestic shores has been up for taxes withdrawal here in Sweden and I actually think it’s way more disgusting to wash someone’s old and dirty underwear like a maid than show my titties. I use to read them job ads for domestic shores occasionally and seriously, grownups that can’t cook, take care of their own children and dress themselves should be declared of incapacity, period.

But I guess the job has a backside to it, besides the creeps and disgusting men. When I read Jenna Jameson’s self biography I could feel the aches and pains from when she was pole dancing, u get big bumps on ur backside and under ur feet and things like that. U basically destroy the body in a long term perspective.

Well, I don't think I will make that career happen anytime soon, more likely a pole-dance class as exercise so instead it's time for some new Bay Area heat, a new strip club anthem from Ya Boy which he leaked via his blog yesterday called Rain Man. Yeah, it's the same name as the previous one that surfaced in March, but this is a completely different track (aside from the same topic and lyrical content that is), in this one he samples Lil’ Wayne on the chorus and the production on this is waaaaaaaay better than the previous one. I like it, even if the concept of the "umbrella/ella ella/make it rain"-rant starting to feel as old as my grannie, but well, it works. Ya Boy’s "Kush" will hopefully drop early of 2009.

The Step from Rain Man to Wet Wet is a small one and topic wise almost on the same page, DJ UNK’s "2nd Season" drops in 2 days and this is one banger from the album ft. Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat and Blazed. Sleazy deluxe. I've one final track to this post, Camar from Slip 'N' Slide recs with this pole dancing anthem called Slide Up Slide Down. Cheesy r'n'b as it's best, absolutely perfect!

_081101: The Bassline Feeling

Dizzee and Wiley keep walking in each others footsteps coz they have now both jumped on the whole bassline thing. Wiley on the remix of Platnum’s and Mr. V’s Naughty and Dizzee on this little goodie called The Feeling produced by T2 which also features the Addictive ladies. I must say, Addictive just sounds better and better in my ears.

The Naughty original is too much for my taste, too much house that is, sounds like a sordid disco gone wrong basically, where everything is out of place. Clothes make up, men. Yuck. But when the girl’s cheer-rap kicks in and when Wiley does his thing, it’s actually quite... good?

But if life were as simple as Punch Out for NES, (and I like to think it is), Dizzee wins on walk over basically, easy peasy, no sweat. I honestly wish that it was Dizzee’s new album that would drop 'soon' instead of Wiley’s. However, Dizzee is busy touring in Australia at the moment but will soon release the 4th single from "Maths and English"; Wannabe ft. Lily Allen. Let’s hope there’s at least some new material on that one.
