_071031: I Look Good

why u wanna hate on me The Pack released their debut album "Based Boys" yesterday, and it was all I’ve ever hoped for. At first I was insecure about the slow jam Rock n Roll cuz it just felt boring in an old Boys II Men- kinda way, but it’s quite catchy actually. I’ve got one complaint thou, the absolute hideous cover art. It has a bit of Gorillaz baiting going on there but I’m sure that’s not the work of Jamie Hewlett. Well, read my full review over here (it’s in Swedish) and enjoy this, I Look Good, the upcoming 2nd single. It’s perfect, got those whistles, the cockiness and a lot of bounce.

_071030: Back In Da Day

After the whole "Wild Style" thing revisited, Dizzee’s Old Skool and on and on, we sort of have gotten used to look at things with retrospective eyes, and Smasher’s Back In Da Day is the perfect blend of the new and the old school. Production signed by the mad skillz of Lewi White, there’s so much more to him than a good set of cheekbones. One thing thou, God I wish that peeps would stop the tiered copycatting of the large printed t-shirt a ´la House of Holland, the concept is weared and teared to absolute boredom. What happened with the creativity people? Well, video for part 2 coming soon.

_071029: Flex Factor

Wrote about Dave Spoon’s mix of Dizzee’s upcoming single Flex some weeks ago. And this, the "Flex Factor"; behind the scenes of the video directed by Edward Tracy, is hilarious. Dizzee is playing a black Simon Cowell rating Murkle Man, playing with a wig, crocodile shoes, socks and everything. What would the world be without u Dylan Mills? Probably a very boring one. Well, get ready for some bare jokes with Dizzee, Mike Skinner, Jammer, the Newham Generals, Reg Yates, Mr Hudson, and DJ Semtex.

_071029: Punctuation

The making of the Movement's Wretch 32's first video; Punctuation has been circulating for a while and now it’s officially out. The single will be released digitally the 8th of November. Punctuation is from Wretch’s "Teachers Training Day", and he recently released another installment called "Verses 3 And 2 Chapter Wretch".

.mp3: Wretch 32 - Punctuation (YSI) // (SS)

_071028: Heartbroken

The official video for T2's Heartbroken has finally landed! Jodie Aysha has the voice of a true goddess and I can’t even describe how much I luv this tune.

_071028: Fatal Bazooka!

The old joker Fatal Bazooka has done it again! This time the targeted one is Gwen Stefani and perhaps a few others, I don’t know, I don’t understand a single word in French (except for the old Lady Marmalade catch phrase), kinda feels like when I was younger and watched some tv-show in English and tried to get the words but all that came out was some Swedish jibbrish. But it’s hilarious either way and even this has hipster material written all over it, I actually enjoy it, especially Yelle’s part in the whole thing.

.mp3: Fatal Bazooka ft. Yelle - Parle à Ma Main (YSI) // (SS)

_071027: Estelle Wait A Minute

Estelle is back! She was the first artist to sign with John Legend's new label and the new video for Wait A Minute (Just A Touch) is based on one of my fave flicks ever; "Breakfast At Tiffany's". U know, the morning after the night before when Audrey Hepburn is walking down the street in the beginning of the film. I kinda like Estelle’s new sort of grown up sound, it suits her well. Wait A Minute is the lead single from the new album called Shine which will be out 12th of February, and the single was produced, and features, Will.I.Am and will be out the 19th of November.

.mp3: Estelle - Wait A Minute (Just A Touch) (YSI) // (SS)

_071027: Turning Heads

The very delayed second album of Mike Jones called "American Dream" will be released the 4th of December, so will also the movie with the same name, it’s a biopic about Jones' early life and his entry into the rapping game. Here’s the brand new video for the new single Turning Heads, it’s nyce to see that Mike Jones still have a sense of humour and distance towards himself, grills or no grills.

.mp3: Mike Jones - Turning Heads (YSI) // (SS)

_071026: Glitter

glitter is his name Despite all of Cam’Ron’s controversy or the fact that "Killa Season" was not as good as I hoped, I gotta love Killa Cam. Must admit, once I had Cam as a role model for my future man, of course, it failed cuz there can only be one, only one rocking the color coordination of the pink, the purple or the orange. Now his name is Glitter, and this new earring is from his upcoming mixtape "Public Enemy #1" which will be released on November 7th. However, just see it as some extra sparkle on ur Friday.

_071026: Everyone Who Doesn’t Dance...

..are rapists Julien Offay de La Mettite once stated that man is a machine and became a philosophical genius. This emerged on the Mad Decent blog yesterday, and it’s ill, ill, ill, and perfect for the dance floor tonight. It’s from the Swedish Maskinen (the Machine), and the philosophical essence of it all is that everyone who doesn’t dance is a rapist. The single is out now on Kontor New Media also added with a fun remix by Dada Life.

_071025: The Sharks Eat Bigfoot

The Sharks Eat Bigfoot Remember the brilliant remix BD1982 did on M.I.A.’s Boys? And the EP I talked about in that post? Well, it’s called "The Bigfoot E.P." and will be released the 29th on Seclusiasis. Cop that, it’s funny, contains a weird wicked tune with the sound of someone eating with the mouth open. Sounds all gross I know, but I assure u, it's not. In wait for that, he sent me this splendid mix yesterday, "The Sharkes Eat Bigfoot", enjoy!

_071023: Clyde Carson Doin' That

don't worry get hyphy The Team’s Clyde Carson, also known as the mastermind behind the Hyphy juice and doing the same pose on every picture, has now teamed up with the youngster Sean Kingston and dropped this, the follow up to his previous single 2 Step. And even if I can’t stand Sean Kingston most of the time, this is GOOD. Still waiting for the release of "Theater Music", and if all tracks are like this, Carson’s solo debut is gonna be BIG BIG BIG, whether ur hooked on that grape juice or not.

.mp3: Clyde Carson ft. Sean Kingston - Doin' That (YSI) // (SS)

_071022: Kid Sis's Switch Board

coca cola shake with an onion in the back Last week was a shitty one, let’s hope this one will be better, it definitely starts good with this new fiery joint from Kid Sister.

It kinda starts slow like a Monday then escalates in pure juke Friday insanity. Production by the always reliable A-Trak.

.mp3: Kid Sister - Switch Board (YSI) // (SS)

_071021: Scooby Brapp!

Channel U may consist of many shitty videos in heavy rotation, but every now and then something really good pops up, like this by Scooby, or SCOOBILICOUS, the preferred name by the ladies. Brapp is produced by Microman a.k.a TopFloor Productions and is one of my fave tunes atm.

.mp3: Scooby - Brapp

_071019: Ken Ring Ta Det Lugnt

U gotta love Ken, bonafide drama king, always in the tabloids, isn’t it about agitation to storm the Swedish castle and rape our bombshell Princess Madeleine (no, not literally rape, it was just a metaphor from Ken’s side) it’s about drugs, or his children or something else. Right now he’s writing a guest blog over at Rodeo Magazine, it’s basically just Ken all the way, check it over here. And I must say, this is the first time I like Ken’s music, and the diss to the rest of Swedish Hip Hop is so on point;

_071019: Speedin'

boss boss What can go wrong with some OooohOOooh! OooohOOooh!-s from R. Kelly, a production signed The Runners and Rick Ross on the mic? Well, nothing. This, the second single, raised my expectations for "Trilla" even higher then before.

Rick Ross is also the _only_ man who fits in that type of beard. The ONLY one, get me?

.mp3: Rick Ross ft. R. Kelly - Speedin' (Dirty)

_071019: Westwood Better Know

I can’t understand what’s so fucking hype about Tim Westwood. Legend? For me, he’ll always be an oldie not an goldie, and to see him in the UK-version of "Pimp My Ride" is for me like if David Letterman would do the American one instead of X. Can’t stand old men with grey hair and a personality bypass, oh I forgot, there is one thing worse, it's 20-something guys sporting that look. I can’t figure out why they wanna look like a huge pile of dead skin and saggy flopping body parts. Anyway, Boy Better Know did their bizz on Westwood’s show on BBC last weekend;

It’s been a long time since BBK was in Sweden, so bookers, u know what to do? If I see another Wiley booking I scream, cuz he’s never gonna show up anyway so why bother to book shit when u can book _good_ shit?

The track below is from Skepta’s album, it’s about the thing that happened last time he supposed to be over here but got locked up in a cell in Greece instead, and the production, the production, the production... Well, what can I say, it makes me cry. Seriously, and no, I’ve not gone soft. Don't worry, I'm like Westwood's logo, made of STEEL.

.mp3: Skepta - Ayia Napa 2006 Skit

_071018: N Dubz

First time I saw the video for You Better Not Waste My Time was in the spring of 2006, it was a time before nu rave, before it was sort of OK to bring the 90’s back into fashion, and there was Tulisa with her opera "oho oho" in the 90’s fashion, there was the standard "pour champagne over a girls tits and make her eat strawberries sexy"-pool-scene with Dappy and Fazer, which looked like a joke and the money tossing consisted of like 10 pounds all together. That video became the laughingstock of me and my friends every time it went on.

I referred to N Dubz as a waste of MY time, but then they teamed up with N.A.A in N-Dubz;

and it was fucking good, I was perplexed and confused. They recently re-released the album called "Fiva Las Vegas" and You Better Not Waste My Time is the "new" forthcoming single, which will be out the 22nd, with a NEW and improved video (thank God);

N Dubz may be a strange group, but they won the MOBO for Best Newcomers, and even if I don’t know if I like everything they do, I really really like the booty bass mix of You Better…. up now on their MySpace.

.mp3: N Dubz - You Better Not Waste My Time

_071017: Poirier's Telephone

phone Me and the shit from France just don’t get along, I’m so fucking fed up with French electro (except for Yelle's extraordinary diss of Cuizinier and Teki in Je Veux Te Voir)! From now on, I’m gonna remove every music blog who posts another Justice remix from my .rss feed, just can’t stand it any longer. But, TTC is not Ed Banger, I’ve actually always liked TTC. Perhaps, inconsistent of me, but that’s just the way it is since I’ve played Kid Sister’s freestyle of Telephone like a thousand times. And now, it comes in a brand new grimy remix from the one and only Ghislain Poirier.

Ps. Speaking of TTC, their on Big Dada, and apparentley Wiley left Big Dada some days ago cuz "this label doesn't know my potential. I'm not signing another deal, it is all about Eskibeat recordings now, my final home. Well, stay tuned.

.mp3: TTC - Telephone (Ghislain Poirier Remix)

_071017: Bang Ur Headz!

Remember the three kids, hailing from the playground of Bow, three apples high giving their love to new eras? Well, they’re back. Now they’ve teamed up with Manchie’s Mayhem crew, pulled on some Halloween costumes in this called; Bang Ur Headz. And even if the Lil Rascals reminds me of every obnoxious kid at my former work as a pre-school teacher, u know, them boys who’s always throwing plastic dinosaurs at u, screams in ur ear, pulls ur hair and scratches ur face, I love 'em! Their album "Playground Antics" will be out sometime in November, until then, Bang Ur Headz!

.mp3: Mayhem & Lil Rascals (New Generation) - Bang Ur Headz (Preview)

_071015: I Wanna Hear You Say (Fire Fire)

I know, I've been slacking in the grime department, but no worries. Gonna make it up for y'all. First up, Fire Camp is back from a long silence with this; I Wanna Hear You Say (Fire Fire), over the Flat-beat sample. The long awaited album "Great Fire Of London" is on its way. It's quite nyce to see that Bizzle hasn't completely lost himself in old Clash-samples.

.mp3: Fire Camp - I Wanna Hear You Say (Fire Fire)

_071012: Blue Magic (Off. Video)

It’s here, directed by the legendary Hype Williams;

The 2nd single from Hova’s upcoming album "American Gangster" (out 6th of November), Roc Boys (And The Winner Is) leeked the day before yesterday, contains horns and all that jazz. The best part must be got less steps than Britney, that means it's ain't stepped on, dig me?.

.mp3: Jay-Z - Roc Boys (And The Winner Is) (Dirty)

_071012: Black Boys

Social/street commentator Bashy has removed the lollipop from his mouth and gone all soft and humble on this, and the production, makes me shiver, for real. Proves that grime doesn’t need to be gunfingers to the ceiling all the time, soft and with a strong lyric works too. The .mp3 below is from the "Chupa Chups"-mixtape but the video is up for voting on MTV Base so I’ll guess that the single will drop soon.

.mp3: Bashy ft. Loick - Black Boys

_071012: Cherish Killa

killa killa Shoe Fanatic is not going to be the first single of Cherish new album apparently; instead it’s this with Yung Joc called Killa. I kinda liked Shoe Fanatic more, but this, it’s not that bad, plain sweet and catchy r’n’b. And it’s not a song about death or something, The Cherish sisters get the facts straight by saying It's about a guy who has killer looks. But they're singing about a shorty, I've always takin' a shorty for a girl? Guess it's different in ATL theese genderbending days.

The new album is called "The Truth" and will be released the 5th of February next year.

.mp3: Cherish ft. Yung Joc - Killa

_071011: Don't Call Me No Mo

Don’t Call Me No Mo is the first single from "Walkin' Bank Roll" which will be out the 30th. Could dedicate this one to all guys never getting it, but instead I’ve just got one word for ya: PRINCESS!

.mp3: Project Pat ft. Three 6 Mafia & Princess - Don't Call Me No Mo

_071011: Gimme More Lil Mama

gimme gimme Despite that horrific creation Lil Mama was wearing to the VMA’s, she never seems to fail. Now, to keep up the tradition she started with Rihanna’s Umbrella and Avril’s Girlfriend, she done a remix for Britney’s Gimme More. And Lil Mama’s has her own take on why Britney has so much trouble in her life; People always going to tell you what you want to hear / too many yeses, not enough noes, not enough real /...They surround the best and the best get torn. Lil Mama's next single will be Shawty Get Loose feat. Chris Brown, can't wait for that one to drop!

.mp3: Britney Spears ft. Lil Mama - Gimme More

_071010: PU$$Y

heeeeeeey we want some Spank Rock’s and Benny Blanco’s "Bangers & Cash" EP is finally out, and this one, the only song that wasn't handed out fo’ free via his MySpace, contains a nyce rework of the good old 2 Live Crew hit We Wan’t Some Pussy.

Well what can I say, I’m hooked, just love pussy-rap.

.mp3: Bangers & Cash - Pu$$y

_071010: The Pack In My Car

In My Car is the first single from The Pack's debut album "Based Boys" and it comes with a video directed by Dale Resteghini (Soulja Boy Crank Dat). "Based Boys" will drop the 30th.

.mp3: The Pack - In My Car

_071009: Mainstream Money

The Prince of Grime; Tinchy Stryder's back with a new video from "Star In The Hood";

.mp3: Tinchy Stryder - Mainstream Money

_071009: Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)

The sample from the classic David Bowie track Let’s Dance alongside with the funk-infused beats makes Hot Stuff, the first single from Craig David’s upcoming album called "Trust Me" which is available to buy on the 12th of November. I like Craig David, his contribution on Kano's "London Town" with Bad Boy and This Is The Girl still rolls on my playlist. The funniest memory I have regarding Craig is from an old Swedish TV-show, long before the Idol-era, called "Reach For The Stars" when average Joe’s and Jane’s mimed and impersonated famous songs and singers and that way became stars themselves. The funny story was when a guy schould perform Craig’s monster hit 7 Days and they couldn’t get the hair right, so they painted some candy black, shaved the kids head and glued that candy on his head just to get the right look. He was bare jokes.

.mp3: Craig David - Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)

BONUS: Remember the nyce work Chase and Status did on Dizzee’s Sirens? Well, here’s their take on Hot Stuff:

.mp3: Craig David - Hot Stuff (Let's Dance) (Chase and Status Mix)

_071008: DJ Eli's Jimmy

Aaja Aaja I hate my neighbors; two 16-year old pizza faced guys in Hawaii-shorts and flipflops and every time I play music they’re going mental knocking in their floor/my ceiling. Like now, listening to this. Please cut me some slack!? Well, I could get 'em evicted in a snap, but I’m nyce so I’m gonna let it pass, for now. I’m not playing THAT loud either, so fuckin annoying. This is from the new M.I.A. single, like it far more than the original. And the cover artwork is to die for!

.mp3: M.I.A. - Jimmy (DJ Eli Remix)

_071008: Re:Flex

slow, fast, down, up bring it back Yeah, I know, it’s much Dizzee over here right now, but it’s just the way it is. Read all about the Dizzee Rascal gig from the Levi’s X Vice Party in Stockholm the day before yesterday over here. One of my absolute fave tunes of "Maths+English" is Flex, and here’s the housy reflex by Dave Spoon, the genius behind Lisa Maffia’s comeback Bad Girl At Night. Slow, fast, up, down, bring it back 1 step, 2 step!

.mp3: Dizzee Rascal - Flex (Dave Spoon Remix)

_071005: DONK

she gotta a DONK Yeah, Nas stated that hip hop is dead and I must say, thank God! Cuz I’ve never liked Nas, or his way of hip hop, it’s like background music, like elevator music, it just pass; does not make an impact on me, at all. I’m much more into the dirty shit (which y’all know by now). Therefore I more than welcome even more stupid lyrics, ringtone-beats and party music. Like this from Soulja Boy’s brand new album, it’s not a explicit one, cuz Soulja’s a minor, it’s rude to be rude when ur young, but u wanna dance to it, anyhoe. Shades on, do the grown man, make it calp!

.mp3: Soulja Boy - Donk

Btw, this by Sam Harris, HILARIOUS;

_071005: Soulja Girl Video

Wrote about this song some weeks ago, well here’s the brand new video;

_071004: U Finna Get HURT

I like this tune, but I’m not sure about the tight knitted cap T.I. wears or the video itself. It's kinda boring and the only man that can still keep his pof with a cap like that is Adebisi in OZ. U know what I mean… Well, production signed Dajna and it’s of T.I. vs. T.I.P. One of the best tracks of that album actually.

.mp3: T.I. ft. Alfa Mega & Busta Rhymes - Hurt

_071004: Paper Planes Remix

being poor is a disease, gotta hustle up a cure I must say, I was slightly disappointed by the new UGK album, but Bun B killed it on Dizzee’s Where’s Da G’s and now make a good contribution on the street remix of Paper Planes alongside with Rich Boy.

Get your Robin Hood on; put some pressure on the man, Zoom zoom zoom!

.mp3: M.I.A. ft. Bun B & Rich Boy - Paper Planes (Street Remix)
