_080927: Electro Sing For Me

Yeah, week 39 was a really good one in terms of video releases, here’s finally the official and full version of B.E.T nominated Ghetto ft. Tamzin’s Sing For Me, with the remix included and a proper lip-sync unlike the other one that has been floating around for a couple of days. Love this track, probably Ghettz’ best to this time, the production by Rude Kid is a perfect 10 and I like this video.

It’s sooo nyce to see girls taking more space instead of just being used as decoration. And yeah, the electro remix at the end, Sing For Me is now quite old and this is a proper way to making it interesting again cuz the remix is fire even if the electro take on grime starting to feel a bit... old?

But well, Ghettz has announced that a special edition of his second mixtape "Ghetto Gospel" will be released in a unique cd/dvd pack (due for release the 20th of October) with Sing For Me as an added bonus track and the new take on the mixtape is that it will be a music video for every other track. Let’s hope they all are in the same standard as the one above.

GH is also planning a follow up to his debut mixtape called "2000 & life vol. 2" to be released soon, around Christmas and that’s not all, his debut album "The Justification Of J. Clarke" is also in the making. Yeah, much in the pipe but until then, sing along to Tamzin’s stunning vocals, she’s got a _voice_.

_080925: Message Is Love (Video)

I will probably get loads of anonyms hate comments in the comment filed for saying this but well, spill ur guts boys (yeah its most boys who hates for some reason, kinda unexpected, but well, like Nike says, just do it). But first I must say; this video for The Message Is Love is _flawless_.

The girl in the bee-costume for example, oh my, love love love. But now comes the hate part, the only thing that’s a complete epic fail in this is: Silverlink. Yeah, u can rep that Cassette Playa t–shirt all u like, u still look like something from the 'Don’ts'-section from Vice when that rag was good. Like 3 years back. My hands itch, I wanna cut his hair so badly. Had sex with a dude with hair that long, among the best sex I’ve had actually, but to be two persons with floppy hair felt so wrong. Okay if it’s a hot chick (I don’t like girls who’s butch) but no, not on a dude. Can’t be liberated regarding this issue, I can’t deal with all that hair, I just can’t. Call me a shallow bitch, I AM a shallow bitch but hair like that isn’t okay.

And I sure don’t expect productions mental like this from people who look like they just ran out of the woods during some live shit playing a goblin or a prince named Valiant. U get me. Things like that confuse me. But Silverlink scores on one point thou, he hasn’t tied that metal mop into a fugly Lykke Li-bun or ponytail, yet. Silverlink’s MySpace-page is also very confusing. I hate when I can’t categorize people easily.

Well, splitting hairs aside, one of the best tracks of 2008 by far, the single is out now, cop it!

_080925: Pop Like This Playdoe

One film that was like _huge_ in my youth was the Swedish masterpiece "Sökarna". Some gangster story, u know the drill: regular boys gone wrong vs. nazisboys gone wrong, blonde page-hairdue on the boy gone most wrong, interracial relationships Romeo and Juliet-style, with the worst dialogue ever and the scenery, oh my diddy. Everything went in RGB+Y. completely EVERYTHING! It was like a children’s playground turned into a gangsta movie.

This, the first video from South Africa’s finest: Playdoe is also in RGB+Y but some much funnier and better looking, It still has that old school pastiche to it but it’s cute and well done. It's That Beat was a better track than this but it really doesn’t matter when Spoek and Sibot makes videos like this does it? Absolutely love the jackets matching that test screen.

U can by their EP from iTunes, do it.

_080924: The Juju Man

Juju is one of my sisters kiddo fave guttural sounds right now, one other is abooo followed by massive saliva garglation on the last o. She’s also the queen of blowing saliva bubbles and noo, she’s not some retard, she’s just 5 months old.

Anyhow, this mental juju riddim emerged on JME’s MySpace recently and _wow_, I really like it! It’s so nyce to hear some new bars from Jamie Adenuga instead of the same old t-shirt rant and so on. JME has transcended from that durag boy into a full grown Juju-man (a form of a witch doctor). If u don’t know, juju is an aura or other magical property, usually having to do with spirits or luck, which is bound to a specific object; it is also a term for the object. And what’s more to say, there sure is some juju magic to this. Yeah, one might ask what happens to the Boy Better Know album "V.I.P", wasn’t it about to be released in the summer? Or no wait, according to Wiley it’s summer still. I forgot. So stupid of me, anyway, it’s still forthcoming.

JME's "Famous?" tour is set and peep this blog post for the dates and places.

_080923: Bass To The Walls

Oh I was wondering when this banging electrohouse official remix of Dopeboy by Al Azif was gonna turn up and woop there it was in my mailbox. Yeah we were many searching for Isabella Löwengrip aka. Blondinbella (one of my fave blogger in Sweden, if u don’t know, the most popular blogs in Sweden aren’t driven by politicians, journalists or music related at all, they are personal blogs from 17 year old fashion girls) in the original video but here at 1:25 she is.

At first, I hated Blondinbella, dismissed her as one rich kid spoilt rotten but now I actually love and respect her. She headstrong and smart and yeah she kinda reminds of myself when I was 17. She’s a good role model for kids aside from her horrible clone Kissie. Other cameos except from Adam Tensta and Eboi in this homemade video are a bunch of people; ordinary citizens, politicians, musicians, journalists and other personalities such as Robert Aschberg, Papa Dee (…), Mange Schmidt, Lazee, Astma, Paragon, Vincent, Hasse Aro, Million Stylez, Dogge, Maria Wetterstrand, Kihlen from Snook, Rigo from Crossfire, Anders Lundin, Rafael Edholm, Mofo, Shire from MTV, Mona Sahlin.

_080923: On and Off

How pretentious isn’t the following explanation?: "It’s my way of saying nothing in the world is perfect and no person in it is, either. None of us is exempt from certain hardships and heartbreaks. It was really important for me to write songs that women can relate to from real situations. I didn’t want to do an album that painted myself as perfect because no matter how things look, no one is". Yeah, it’s Keri Hilson running her mouth on why her debut solo album is named "In a Perect World..." which will be released sometime like the 14th of October. I was also so damn irritated of ms Hilson when she appeared on so many tracks of Timbo’s "Shock Value" but this new single which will (probably) be released today makes it up for it all. It’s forgiven and forgotten since the track is like a 4 minutes and 9 seconds long glimpse of the perfect world. It consists of a simplicity production by Polow da Don and features Weezy F Baby. Oh I know, this line is so low, but I can’t just help myself, it’s certainly not a turn off. Playing with chewing gum is however one.

_080922: A Universal Problem

The previous week was a dark one in the Swedish music history for some male artists. Last Monday when I was out buying breakfast all feverish and accompanied by one big fat rat on the sidewalk (seriously, Stockholm is invaded by rats, so disgusting) I opened the daily paper. The first thing that caught my eye was that one 42 year old artist has been taken into custody for beating his young wife in her 20’s, she was found in their stairway all bloody and unconscious, then I flipped the page and found that a 29 year old rapper and his 21 year old sidekick had been accused of sexual constraint and rape of a 15 year old girl and it didn’t end there, the trial of another artist who’s charged of rape on his children’s nanny was found some pages forward.

One journalist wrote a column about it all and she blamed hip hop for the whole thing. Now, we all know, it’s not that easy. The 42 year old with the battered wife is in fact Papa Dee, yeah he raps but is most known for his ragga and dancehall music, the 29 year old rapper who was accused of sexual constraint was self proclaimed bad boy Ken Ring, the 21 year old accused of rape is still unknown, it’s been speculated to be Patrick Aurelle but it’s _not_ him since he was in the DJ-booth when the 21 year old and Ken was taken by the police. The old man accused of rape on his nanny is opera tenor Tito Beltrán and him and hip hop certainly don’t match. So, let’s get one thing straight, the predicament here is defo not hip hop, it’s a universal problem, deeply rooted in our structure, culture and upbringing.

Ken has gone ballistic of the accusations and the media coverage on his blog and states that he’s innocent as well as the 21 year old. He even claim that he know for a fact that the girl had sex with the 21 year old out of her own free will, and he posts e-mails he has received from other 15 year old who were at the concert last Saturday when this all should have taken place, stating that the girl in question is a liar, miserable, psychotic and throw this allegations just cuz she wants attention. According to the police report the two incidents regarding Ken and the 21 year old took place at two different times that evening. First according to the girl Ken forced her to have oral sex with him and later she got raped by the 21 year old. HOW on earth can Ken claim that she played the game out of her own free will since he saw them exchange saliva in a sofa?! The same time he says that all rapists/abusers/batters etc. should be killed. IF it shows that the 21 year old guy did rape the girl, I’m quite skeptic that he would shut him out and treat him as social pariah.

There’s another aspect of this story as well; who has the right to talk. Ken writes and writes in his blog, she is the one everyone gossips about, on blogs, in papers, on forums, on the street, as the big liar. She told what has happened to the staff at the place the concert was held. A disco for teenagers. The staff went to the police. The preferential right of interpretation lies within Ken and the 21 year old, on the male side, as in most of these cases. I’m so fed up. OK. First of all. NO ONE shouts rape just to get attention. Second, how low is it of the 21 year old to have sex with a 15 year old? To fugly to fuck ur own age and have to get pussy from some star struck 15 year old girl?! Why invite her backstage in the first place? It’s disgusting to take advantage of young girls like that. Third, why would she lie? She has absolutely NOTHING to gain from it, quite the contrary. But here we go again, same old story, she’s the liar, she’s the one to blame, she bears the guilt. Ken writes that his whole world is in pieces. But I can’t feel for him. I just can’t. I’ve seen too much, I feel for the girl. In my ears and heart she’s the one who tells the truth, the 21 year old is the one who should prove himself innocent, not her.

Now the charge against Ken regarding the sexual constraint has been dropped cuz the prosecutor can’t prove that the thing happened the way the girl tells. It’s word against word. Ken writes that a big burden has been lifted off his shoulders. Good for u Ken, but my stomach still hurts thinking about the girl. Ken paints the grand picture of himself as a victim today and is on his way to sue the two biggest news papers in Sweden for writing about this as well as the police (their first press release was very fuzzy and the papers misread the whole thing and thought that Ken was the one accused of rape instead of the 21 year old), he writes that the way to justice is long.

I can understand that it must be very difficult and stigmatizing to be accused of rape but seriously, he was never accused of rape, his name was never mentioned in the rape charge until he himself posted the posts on his blog. And regarding the sexual constraint, I would also be quite embarrassed if I forced a 15 year old drunken girl to suck my dick backstage, the guilt is so obvious just as he talks about it all the time, writes a track to his wonderful wife asking for forgiveness and so on. I’ve seen those 15 year old girls backstage interviewing artists, I’ve been one of them when I was younger, but to say yes to an invitation backstage is not saying yes to sex. Period.

Instead of this whole damn wordy rapping hood on Ken’s blog; hearsay deluxe, claiming the girl for a liar, tell that he knew for a fact that she wanted it in capital letters and just dismiss the allegation of rape with that she got post drunkenness anxiety. He could have kept his big mouth shut like a grown up, like a man, like Papa Dee does. He’s calm, serene and acts his age. Ken should act like the 29 year old man he is. Without repeating the same old tardy pattern, if he respects women as much as he claims to do, he also knows how hard it is to be one.

I’m so tired, emotionally drained. Nothing ever changes. All politics is just one big lie. All laws to protect women and children, what a hoax. Whether the girl tells the truth or not, she’s always guilty. He, the accused one; Ken Ring, the 21 year old, Papa Dee and Tito is always the ones with the power. They don’t have to defend their short skirt, the amount of alcohol if they were drunk nor their prior sexual history. My heart is with these girls. I believe u all. I admire u for having the guts telling ur truth. I hate that things like this moves me the way they do. We all know why since my last post on the subject. But its things like this that just makes me wanna give up, lie down on the floor and stop breathing.

Let’s hope all men, artists and regular, keep their dick in the right places this week. Now on brighter side of things, was listening to this track called Shut Ur Mout Rudeboi by UK-producer Illmana alot last week. It’ sort of fucked up but at the same time sooo awesome, it has so many different sides to it that I just have to love it. It’s taken from the 12" with the same name out now on Strictly Bangorz. And while we’re on the subject of dick gone wrong and bass why not fuse them together in a lovely remix by Mr. V?

_080921: Shredded Paper

My expectations on "Paper Trail" were quite low in the beginning when T.I. and Shawty Lo were at each other’s throats constantly and No Matter What was a big sleeping pill, but they were definitely driven up by the amazing tracks Whatever U Like and Swagga Like Us. Before I didn’t even understand the cover art, thought it was so fugly, only had seen small pcture in low resolution and it looked like a fugly oil painting from some hippie-ish student fresh out of college. Now, I understand its greatness. It’s not some boring oil painting, it’s actually a version of paper ascii using scraps of money and paper signed the legendary Ian Wright, love it!

There’s just one thing I still don’t understand with "Paper Trail" thou, the sampling of O-Zone’s Dragostea Din Tei. Like mhm, say what?! WHY?! Without that horrid thing Live Your Life would be a good track, now it’s just messed up, and things like that makes the album uneven. But yeah, the album still has some good pearls like On Top of the World ft. Luda and B.O.B produced by KanYe. Here’s also Trina’s awesome version of Whatever You Like outshines the remix with Gorilla Zoe by far and the huge remix of Swagga Like Puff ft. Rick Ross, Puffy, Trae etc. "Paper Trail" and its amazing cover out the 30th.

_080921: Undisputed Queen of Luv

Trina’s brand new interpretation of Shawty Say is _WAY_ better than David Banner’s ever was. Don’t know if it’s the beat from an old Janet Jackson song or the rest of the production signed Raw Smoov and of course the sampling of her old loves Lollipop, it’s just flawless. And their old relationship gives the track more depth than Banner’s. Say what u want about Trina but music is something she’s good at, her clothing collection "Pink Diamond Couture" on the other hand, nah, I’m not buying it. Don’t understand why everyone must do EVERYTHING?! Just cuz ur good at one thing it doesn’t mean ur good at everything. I want more people doing THEIR thing, with full dedication rather than lame ass tries that never lead anywhere, I know money is the issue, but spare me fugly clothing lines and weak acting careers. Do music, if that’s the reason ur 'famous' in the first place.

The war from Beef III still goes on at MySpace for that matter, u know, who has the right to wear the "Queen of the South"-crown. Trina’s MySpace-page states: All Hail The UNDISPUTED Queen of the South and Khia recently wrote an interesting blog post on her page addressed to her fellow sisters in rhyme (esp. to Trina and Jacki-O), here’s a small draft from the post:

Why yall hoes cant keep the Queen’s name out yall mouf????? Yall want some of Thug Misses pussy????? It’s the best pussy you ever had….. For the record…. There will be no more diss records….. I tried to told yall what’s been going on out here…. But yall didn’t wanna believe the Queen….. I told yall these whores was FAKE as HELL and was fucking for checks and yall thought I was HATIN!! I guess now yall will believe me since Rick Ross is mad at Wacky Hoe and dissed her ass and told yall how he wrote all her shit and paid for all her lipo…. Yall starting to get it now!! Let’s not be DELAYED Nasti Muzik is a diss within itself!! I write HITS people…. Im sanging to you… Live Band and all….. I don’t recite other people’s shit!!!!

BITCH…. BITCH ….BITCH!! It’s so cute how yall young whores done strapped a bomb around yall waist and want the Queen of gasoline to BURN yall asses up!!! Trina , why are you boosting them lil girls up to do a job you couldn’t do??? Everyone knows….. Lyrically….. Yall hoes cant see me!!! I rap better than half these niggas do!!! I’m not gonna be a bully and keep draggggging you whores to the white meat!!!! Bitch, pick up your pussy up…. Cuz It’s draaaagging the floor!!!! Nasti Muzik 08.… The biggest diss of them all… I don’t give a fuck what the numbers say…. It’s the hottest album on the streets… From start to finish…. I gave nothing but the HITS… Skits and all… You were fully entertained……. Beginning to end!! It is a shame how Big Bat Broke Ass Records would let a classic album go to waste…. But never that…. Cuz Imma grind this bitch past PLATINUM…… And Thug Misses said that!!!!!!

In the "Trina , why are you boosting them lil girls up to do a job you couldn’t do??? Everyone knows….. "-section I guess Khia speaks about Trina’s founded group Pretty Money now consisting of the members with the silliest names EVER; Angel Diva and Nisha Rockstarr. Pretty Money's forthcoming mixtape "Keep The Change" will be out soon and comparing their current single B.I.T.C.H with any song from Khia’s "Nasti Muzik" is unfair, too Khia herself even if the B.I.T.C.H video is just as poorly executed as Be Your Lady was. Like I said before Like Me _is_ a very good song, but to compare to B.I.T.C.H (esp. the remix with Trina herself) it’s just pebbles to a rock basically.

But yeah, I gotta admit, I love Khia, just cuz she tries so hard, but let me be so blunt and give u an advice Thug Misses; SHOW - not tell.

_080920: I Still Smell U On My Skin

I know, due to the child pornography court case Kellz has been a busy man, the forthcoming album "12 Play: Fourth Quarter" is postponed due to lack of time for promoting it and this fresh video for the second single Skin is proof enough of Kellz stress as it looks like a sad road kill:

Skin is such a good song and that video does not make it justice in ANY way. What’s up with the intro and that fire?! Looks like something from a dvd on constant repeat in a sordid motel who can’t afford a real fireplace. I’m so disappointed, one nyce idea would have been some pomo-take on the whole thing like Jenny Holzer’s work of art "Lustmord" from 1993-94. The piece consists of witty oneliners inked on several women’s skin and my fave excerpt is definitely: I can still smell u on my skin, it would have turned out real good in a positive meaning even if Holzer focused on violence against women. So Kellz, next time someone briefs an idea for a video with fire and great landscaping, give me a holler instead. Btw, regarding the child pornography case he recentley spoke about it, for the first and last time, on BET some days ago:

While we’re on R. Kelly and the topic of sex for that matter, remember Mya’s Shake It Like A Dawg which was an outtake for her unreleased 2007 album "Liberation"? Here Keri Hilson teams up with R and doing the nasty, quite catchy even if dog role play isn't hot at all.

Catchy is also the word for this new leak produced by Lil' Jon. Yeah, even if it gets more and more obvious that "Crunk Rock" probably never will see the light of day Lil’ Jon’s a busy man. On the side of releasing new flavors of Crunk! he still keeps his producing game up. He seems to have tried on some new instruments as well and the track works, doesn’t it?

_080919: Less Hate - More LUV

People, whatever the rumor says, I haven’t died! Sorry for the week without any posts but I’ve been in Stockholm, too busy to having fun, then (due to a name giving ceremony outdoors in the blistering cold Saturdays) too sick to be awake. But now I’m back in Gothenburg i.e. back in buiz! A LOT has happened the past 8 days, let’s start with the things regarding this site which seem to have caused some distress among some of all my readers. Yeah, I’m speaking about The Message Is Love-track.

Okay, first of all, let’s get one thing straight, I’m _not_ a bootlegger as someone in the comment-field above implied. I’m strongly against bootlegging. I respect the copyright. Not doing that and for me to be a journalist is just plain stupid. I’ve myself suffered for when some hipster magazine (who wanna be like iD) stole an interview I had written, The magazine published the thing unfinished and without my permission, just cus the interview was a about some hyped artist. They changed some words so it would appeal to the hipster crowd who reads that rag. I would never ever use words such as 'kids' for the youth for example. They didn’t even print my name to give me some credit, just my initials in a very tiny font. So, therefore I would never diminish someone else’s work. Usually I just upload tracks I’ve got permission to use, that I’ve got send to me via artists themselves/promotion companies/etc.

Yeah, I do share files, but the attached files are definitely not the purpose with this site. The .mp3-links are, as stated below at the bottom of the site, for promotional use ONLY. The purpose is for me to write about things I like, In my way. Make people discover new things, to fall in love with new music and nyce things. To WRITE. To express myself thought the correlation between text and graphics. Personally I think it’s rather shitty to post some embedded video and several track-links like most .mp3-blogs do. I think its low, I don’t understand the purpose to write posts like: "This is blahablah’s new single" and then post the single. I really don’t. To be perfectly honest, I don’t read many music-related blogs anymore just cuz I get so damn bored as most of them have the same tracks, the same words (often word by word), even the same pic attached to the post and layouted with them fugly blogger/blogspot/wordpress-templates. I wanna do something different that most of my readers actually have realized and seems to appreciate. A person commented on my layout in the comment-field last week with this comment: FUCK YOU | 2008-09-16 (05:40) OK Great blog and everything, but I HATE your fucking layout. Good job on everything and tricking me into visiting your blog all the time and blah blah, BUT FUCKIN SWITCH THIS LAYOUT CHUCH .

LIKE OK?! Layout is my main treat, it is what I do best, it’s what can keep me awake at night, programming, change pixel after pixel and so on. As I’ve said above, the correlation between text and graphics are extremely important to me, so instead to post a comment which begins with Fuck you plz, give me some input instead. WHAT is it about the layout that’s so horrible? Give me some suggestions on how to improve. I can take the criticism, go on, don’t be shy. Spill ur guts!

To continue on the topic of file sharing, If any artist/label contact me and want me to take something down, I’ll do it asap, no questions asked, as the case with The Message Is Love. First time since 2005 that has happened btw. I know, it was my bad to upload the full track in 320 kbit/s, I usually change the tracks to a lower quality if I don’t have the direct permission to upload it. I know that some DJ-s hate that I don’t supply them with the 320-quality, but u know what? I’m not ur local record dealer, nor iTunes etc. If u wanna get the 320 kbit/s-one, well, go buy it.

Another thing that someone in the comment-field also implied, I do _not_ wanna take credit for the uploaded tracks. IF I should feel the need for it, I would tag the file in every way, Add loud and obnoxious audiotags DJ Semtex-style, write exclusive with bold capital letterers and so on. I hate the blogs who plays that shitty game.

Then, regarding the question that grime is a genre too small to be shared that someone raised; for me to write about it and share files brings more pros than cons ro the table in my opinion. If the track is good, the track will sell anyway. Some might bring up the Frisco-case here. U know, when Frisco went after that boy Risky on Rinse FM in back in February cuz Risky had uploaded his mixtape. Those 1000-persons who downloaded that shit probably just kept Skeng Man Mode and the track produced by GoldieLocks, the rest of the mixtape went straight in the bin, and was deleted. Now, I’m against to upload whole mixtapes/albums/etc. but u get my point?! Shit doesn’t sell, instead of whine of lost p’s that he probably never would have gotten anyway, how about stepping the game up, raising the bars? It’s quite ridiculous when someone whines on the radio that music is his job when he hasn’t blown yet, seems like u quitted ur day job too early Fris?

One argument against share links is that u can stream files instead, But streaming is also file sharing in some way since it’s easy to get the track anyway, it’s just to check the source-code for the addy, it doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out, so it’s more or less the same thing,Tthen my lappie has trouble with streaming embedded files from like divshare, so for me it’s a complete waste.

Then we have the question of broaden the audience with the help of the streets of Internet. 50% of my readers are located in the USA. The rest of my regular visitors are located in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Japan, China, South Africa, Congo, Egypt, Ecuador, Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Indonesia, Dubai, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Canada, Ireland, France, Germany and many many more around the world. In other words, First Up! is a quite big platform for artists to be seen, to get heard, by people who otherwise never ever might have discovered their music. If file sharing didn’t exist, I would never listen to grime or hyphy or kuduro etc. in the extent I do now. I would probably listen to just Dizzee and still be stuck in my old hc/punk/riot-grrl-scene. The Internet is here, the new technique is here, why not make the best of it instead of be whiny reformists? First Up! is _my_ way, and if u don’t support it, well, I’m not holding the gun to ur head, u visit this site out of ur own free will. If u dislike anything, give me holler, but plz, don’t call me bitch next time, I am a bitch, yeah, but what makes U good?!

Let’s finish off this very LONG rant with re-posting The Message Is Love, now approved by the nyce people of Dirty Canvas, props and love peeps! The single will be out the 22nd. If u like it, BUY it.

Last but not least, lots of love to all my readers, keep reading, keep coming with critique, I don’t run this site just for me, myself and I. <3 u!

_080911: Bend Me Like A Pretzel

Seriously, I love Killa Cam. I mean HOW can u not?! Esp. now after this where he samples ms. Vagina Power herelf Alexyss K. Tylor. Never heared of this woman? Well, u missed something, she co-hosted the Atlanta public access show "Vagina Power" with her mother last year and also speaking across the States about the power of the penis and dickmatization.

Cam embodies everything I like in a man, and for him to do this, awww, this fangirl cums in her lace panties. Apology accepted Cameron Giles. The upcoming album "Crime Pays" will be out November on SRC Recordings but apparently neither Juelz Santana or Jim Jones will make appearances on the album due to the recent problems in Dipset and now S.A.S. breaks all ties with Dipset after the recent incidents regarding Juelz in London. Here Juelz explains the whole London-thing himself in this-dude-and-that-dude-lingo-overload (wait till he get that show off his stones, that shit made me cry out of laughter);

Robbed or not, Juelz’ Skullgang mixtape out today!

_080911: The Message Is LOVE

No, the world didn’t come to an end, we didn’t ended up in some black whole, safe for all kind messages, texts, phone calls and birthday congratulations for that matter. Love u all! The Message Is Love so to speak and do u know for how LONG I’ve been waiting for a track like this?! Probably not, but it’s for a long time. 4 minutes and 26 seconds of straight fire, u can tell its good just by the lines: Please don’t push me – I want Nookie and it’s just INSANE! Easily one of the best tracks of 2008, that’s for sure. Jammer shows why he’s in the game in the first place, something I’ve wondered many times when he has just spitted the same old bars over and over, Don’t get me wrong, I love Jammer, but after hearing the same thing over and over, u get bored. Badness is on point as always and the production by Silverlink, I’m speechless!

Okay, I must admit, the The Message Is Love-part sounds quite strange, sort of hippie-ish, but it works at the same time, it’s a good contradiction to the rest of the track. Jammer also keep up his part as the main joker of the grime-scene for that matter, just have a peak at when he and Badness headed to Oxford Street and the surrounding area with a megaphone to promote this new single (released by the people behind No Hats – No Hoods):

The video was shot on Brick Lane last Saturday and well, keep ur eyes open. Just wish that Silverlink would cut his hair instead of looking like something that the cat dragged in. I’m so sorry but if u are a guy and gonna sport long hair for some reason I can’t understand, do something nyce with it, just don’t let it flop around like some fugly black metal dude. Black dudes can pull it off, just look at Jammer and Lil’ Wayne for instance, white dudes, nah, shave it off off off! Easy way to get more girls as a freshly shaved head is so nyce to touch.

Eh, my shallowness and grooming tips aside, speaking of Brick Lane, God I miss the curry from the Clipper! Don’t know what it is, but Brick Lane has a special part in my heart, esp. the Clipper and all the Jaghar-stores. Well, I need to sleep, gonna head up to Stockholm in the morning.

_080910: Large Hadron Collider

IF the world ends today as some scientists expect, at my 27th birthday, I’m quite content, I’ve done loads of things I never thought I would do and I don’t regret any bit of my life. I’m happy and what’s more celebration than go out of life with a big bang? Now however I’m quite skeptic about that The Large Hadron Collider could make this happen, if it had those powers why on earth are they gonna run it? Seems hella stupid if u ask me.

But well, we’ll see and instead of some pompous classic piece from like Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms or any other old fossil, we can now, all thanks to Semothy Jones listen to this dubsteppy track created just for this event. Come on earth, let it bang!

_080909: Bugging Out

Most reviews I’ve read about Kevin Martin’s a.k.a The Bug, recently released third album "London Zoo" are very pretentious and way too forced. Why make things more difficult than they are? The Bug’s own presentation at Ninja Tune and his MySpace might have set the standard as he’s described as: Beats, Bombs, Bass, Weapons, Congestion, Space, Concussion and Seduction. That and The Bug's music is quite difficult to describe. The easy way: Dubstep, yeah but it’s also dancehall, noise, grime, hip hop, dub and moody techno in one great big mishmash.

To be honest, I’m not that into regular dubstep, find it too monotone for my taste but with this mixture of things The Bug manage to keep the genre interesting and most of all, through his choice of guests, such as Roll Deep-members Killa P and Flo’dan. Here in black and white with a skyline in the official video for the second single Skeng directed by Anne-Marie Bergeron. Quite surprised that this video hasn’t been all over the blogsphere yet, stop sleeping people! Well, anyway here it is:

Another of the guests on "London Zoo", and probably the most exciting one is Warrior Queen. I just LOVE her! Her appearances on this album such as in the third single Poison Dart make me long for her own forthcoming album out on the Bug’s label Lady Bug even more. And this stampin' remix of the track below for Roll Deep's upcoming "Return of the Big Money Sound" which now will be out the 6th of October.

_080909: A Lil' Medley

I have never understood what’s soooo good about Leona Lewis, if I hear Bleeding Love one more time I don’t know what I’ll might do, she’s so boring! I don’t even find the words to describe just how boring she is, she’s like vacuum, nothingness. Typically that kind of music I shut out, I don’t hear it. Have never understood the meaning of listening to live-recordings of concerts either (if u weren’t there of course). All the noise from the audience and things just annoys the hell out of me. But despite those two evils, here’s the live-clip of one of the performances which will go in the history books of the WMA’s 2008. The medley with Leona Lewis, Lil’ Wayne and T-Pain of Misunderstood, A Milli and Got Money:

Can someone please enlighten me about the censorship laws in the States? Why on earth are they still bleeping out 'venereal disease' and 'menstrual bleed' in A Milli?! Ok, 'venereal disease' I might understand (not really) but menstruation?! What’s next word in line, blood? Mucus? Snot? Saliva? Absolutely ridiculous.

Other than that, I’m quite content with this year’s VMAs, was easily better than last years for sure. Just don’t understand why everyone’s hyping that KanYe-performance at the ending. It was weak and wack (auto-tuner overload). I will never get the KanYe hype, never never.

_080908: Adam Tensta - Dopeboy

Yesterday Adam Tensta premiered as a VJ on the Swedish MTV and did an excellent job (thank God, no offence Eye-N-I but the only thing OffBeat in ur show, is in fact urself), Tensta also recently got picked by gossip-blogger Perez Hilton as one of his top 5 artist for Levi's. And here’s the brand new video for Tensta’s amazing 4th single Dopeboy ft. E-Boi produced by Howard Who:

Looks hella nyce doesn’t it? The video was directed by Marcus Lundin and was shot in some old mental institution. The Dopeboy-single will be release as a collabo with BRÅ (the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention) for their Get On Our Team-campaign. As u know, I never been a fan of Swedish hip hop, it has always bored my ears out but thanks to Tensta, Henok Achido and Lazee there’s a salvation, at last. Stand up TALL Sweden!

_080908: My Go Girl Run This

Ciara just presented the prize for "Best Dance in a Video" at the VMAs all dolled up in some disco ball dress. I miss the crunked out Ciara, u know, the girl who came with her Goodies and her 1-2 Step. So I’m really happy that her forthcoming album "Fantasy Ride", which will be released sometime in December, has a crunky side to it. Instead of being just like any other normal CD with all tracks on one disc, this release will instead be a three-disc album with five to six songs on each disc supplying a different theme. The first disc entitled "Groove City" contains slow jams similar to Promise from the "Evolution"-album. The second disc called "Crunktown" includes crunk-influenced tracks reminiscing Goodies. The third disc named "Kingdom of Dance" provides hyped up-tempo house and freestyle cuts. Looks like disc number 2 has my name written all over it.

When the promo version of Ciara’s lead single Go Girl from the album with the name Hood Girl leaked some time ago I thought it was quite alright. Sure, T-Pain’s on the production and featuring vocals with the same sound he always brings to the table, nothing to do about that, but well, a nyce track. Now, when the official single is released with the word Hood exchanged to Go it’s more than just nyce, sound alot better and it’s banging! The cover however, is not. The old tardy superhero pastiche (enough is enough already) with a Ciara 'C' in the sky and the styling, Batman’s Robin on acid and crystal meth? Love the shoes thou, but I wouldn’t wear 'em, just have them for display in my collection, as the U Go Giiiiiirl-shoes.

Speaking about go girl and female empowering songs, DJ Diamond Kuts has a new banger up her sleeve called My Girls Run This, produced by Dwizz. Can’t wait for the Salt, Pepper, Ketchup and Hot Sauce video to drop nor the album for that matter, Diamond Kuts Get it Poppin’!!!

_080908: Da Greatest Rapper Alive

Here I am, ill and all tucked up in my sofa but I’m waiting for the VMA’s to start. Yepp, I’m gonna sit through the whole damn thing. It’s been a tradition for me ever since I actually got MTV (in 2003 that is, haha, never had cable or satellite growing up). But I like it, if we didn’t have the VMA’s Chris Crocker never would have been famous for example, the Madonna/Britney/X-tina-kiss would never had seen the light of day, Britney would just be badmouthed for showing her shaved peach and the totally out of the blue and drunkenness marriage. It’s gonna be interesting watching her redeem herself tonight, as well as Lil’ Wayne’s performance and let’s hope Weezy wins the hip hop video category for Lollipop and not KanYe. Just this rehearsal video melts my heart away;

Seriously, so cute, I just wanna keep him in my pocket forever and ever. Haha, note, I’m just as short as him, if not shorter, but anyway, aaaaaaw, cutiepie (insert needy fan girl scream). Seriously #2, I haven’t got tired of Lollipop yet, the LAZRtag remix is my current favorite as well as this little Yea Man-remix of Pop Bottles, it’s absolutely wonderful.

Ps. As I’m going cuteness overload right now I might toss in the Cobra Krames cute b-more version as well, sweeter than candy on a stick!

_080907: Hustler (Off. Video)

Woop woop! Kano’s much talked about video for Hustler is finally out and it’s looking nyce. Don’t miss out on the pair of boobies that managed to get away from the censorship blurring tool at 1:27!

"140 Grime St." is out the 29th and I can’t wait for the remix of this with the Swedish golden boys Lazee and Adam Tensta, think that one will be big. Just listen to this bombastic drum and bass/grime-ish track from Lazee´s recently released debut album "Setting Standards" below, my fave track of the album so far. It actually makes up for the horrible remix of Rock Away with Fred Durst. WHO wants Freddie on a remix?! Who?!

_080906: Rain Dance

There’s no need for rain dances nowadays, this pre-autumn-time is absolutely dreadful, just rain rain rain pissing down 24/7 with side effects like there are snails everywhere on the ground. I look like some stupid emo kid looking down all the time just to watch so I don’t step on any of them big slimy brown and black thingess. It also smells like squished worms and my hair gets all frizzy and shit.

But it has now come ONE good thing out of it so far; this new hit from the almighty Radioclit buttons ft. Malawi-born, London-based singer Esau Mwamwaya and M.I.A called Rain Dance, a catchy song with bongos and hand-claps enough to make me in a much better mood. Don’t know what’s wrong with me today, slept for 16hrs in a row and my gums are bleeding for no reason.

Well my health aside, the fortcoming Esau Mwamwaya/Radioclit album "The Very Best" (out on Ghettopop next year) is all done and features, except from M.I.A., collabos with Vampire Weekend, Santogold, the Ruby Suns, Marina Vello (yeah, formerly of Bonde Do Role), BLK JKS among others. Speaking of M.I.A. for that matter, Paper Planes will now be released physicaly in the UK the 13th of October after the great success the single had in the States, and everyone seems to jumping on the plane nowadays, the latest additions comes from 50 Cent.

_080904: Ur Mouth Saying No But..

Just read some disturbing news which in fact made me cry out of rage. One 22 year old man has been cleared of rape charges as the woman he raped was sleeping in her undies, she told him that she didn’t wanna have sex, just sleep. He forced himself on her, bended her legs open, she tried to keep ‘em closed, she lied stiff as a board and stared up the roof the whole time _he_ said to the court, he even stated that she said no, many times. But the word no is apparently not enough, it’s emptied, lacks any relevance at all. The courts reason to clear him of all charges was that the woman had her undies on. Bra and panties when she lied in the bed next to him, that made her untrustworthy. Okay, some might say that Sweden is so nyce, Swedish women are sooo emancipated, some might even claim that we are best in the word on gender issues. But ok, IF we are that liberated country as everyone likes to claim, how on earth can the story above be true?!

Now I’m speaking out of my own experience. __EVERY__ single girl I know, including myself, have been sexually violated in some way. Raped, attempted rape, sexually assaulted, victims of physical and psychological abuse and I could go on and on and on forever. But I can’t say that this country is so nyce, not when the long arm of the law says that say NO is not reason enough to telling a man that u don’t wanna have sex. All the time it comes down to the woman’s part of it all. The women must prove she’s trustworthy, and in most cases, she most likely not. She has had sex before, she wore a short skirt, she had high heels, she flirted and so on.

I haven’t filed any charges on the man who sexually assaulted me, I know, I should do so, just to shed some light on the real statistic numbers in these cases, but I don’t have the energy. I’ve been through a police interrogation when one of my beloved ones was nearly raped by a group of guys. I’ve heard the questions. Maybe I’ve written all about this incident before, my memory is a bit cloudy. Some people think that these things should be well kept secrets, but why? It happened, I rather deal with it. It’s not me who should be ashamed, it’s him. It’s not my fault, he’s the one to blame, he should carry the guilt, he was the one behaving wrong, ha was the actor, certainly not me.

I was not raped, but assaulted and he didn’t understand what he had done, in his mind, his actions were not a big deal. But for me, they were. This guy in question was a former male friend of mine. But if I report him to the police it would be his words against mine and his are more trustworthy, I was very drunk, I wore skirt that ended just below my butt, I did sleep next to him. He was also very drunk, he slept next to me, he had his boxers on. But I didn’t flirt, he KNEW that I was off the menu. It was crystal clear. We never had that form of relation, I know he was keen on me, but just the very thought of him in any sexual way made me feel sick, so I def not sent out any mixed signals at all.

I’m not scarred for life or anything but I’ve developed trust issues for the male sex, I simply just trust a very few men these days. Not saying that all men are potential rapists and assaulters, but to some point they are. Many men goes ballistic when they hear this, but try to see it from my point of view, If u can’t trust one of ur closest and finest friends at that time, who can u trust? It’s confusing. But then on the other hand, I’ve met a lot of fine men during my single and mingle years, men who followed me home all across towns just to make sure nothing would happen to me, men u treat me as a porcelain doll and men who value women the right way.

Seriously, the argument, "Ur mouth saying No but ur body’s saying yes" is among the worst things that can come from a guys mouth. A no is a no, whether I’m fucking naked with my legs spread wide as hell or wearing like 10 layers of clothes. Even if I lead him on, even if I teased, even if I wanted it at first. Guys who’s arguing like this is waste of space, time and name and could all just die for all I care. I wouldn’t spill any tears and neither would u I hope.

However, and this is where things gets tricky for me, Juney Boomdata is one of those guys. The line is the bare essential of his hit Wassup With Dat Pussy as well as in the cleaner remix with Soulja Boy called Wassup With Da Cookies and I love the track. But on the other side, if I would be true to my 'politics' all the time I would be locked up in a dark room at the psyche ward or something. I love sexist music, I love porn, I love nasty sex but that doesn’t mean that I wanna be raped or assaulted. U follow? It’s different contexts. Oopz, worlds longest post ever, but things like this really gets to me. My body belongs to me. Anyway, the video for this will be shot in some weeks but here’s the amazing Twerk Team giving their best at it;

With clothes or without, the questions is not: "what was HER part in all this? Did her mouth said no but her body said yes?" The blame is all on HIM, not on her. A no is a _no_, fuckin’ period!

Ps. Btw, I want that Cookie Monster cap Juney sports above so badly, someone, where can I get it?!

_080903: Summertime (Off. Video)

Whoa, the official Summertime-video looks waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I imagined! It actually makes up for the horrible take on Wearing My Rolex, no fugly foxes munching on chicken bones in sight. Just have a look for urself:

The single will be out on October 14th. Well, Wiley has erased the stupid Stop Bein Silly-track from his MySpace player and has replaced it with a new track called She Glows where he jumps on the oh so popular autotune-train. And brace urself, I’m quite happy he did. The only thing I had in mind when I travelled home with the bus through the pissing rain 20 min a go was: geeez, I’m tierd of Wiley’s voice. After a while all tracks just blend into a big grey sticky porridge. However, the production on this is rock sold, wish he would stick to the producing game for a while and give my ears a rest.

_080903: Tears of a Tinie Star

I was one of them very few skeptics of the former Aftershox member Tinie Tempah when the Wifey-riddim got huge a couple of years ago. I thought, well, ok, decent tune, but nothing more than decent, guess it was too slow or something. Thought the same thing on the first plays of his new single Tears from the "Hood Economics" mixtape. The high pitch... But well, I’m not that difficult, now I actually love the tune, it just took me some time to figure out the greatness of it. It’s produced by the almighty DaVinChe and has Cleo Sol on featuring vocals:

Something that def helped to push me into the right direction was the remix with DJ Ironik and Tinchy Stryder and the little I’ve heard of the massive bassline remix from Manchie’s Burgaboy (if u missed out on him, check the Showski Wowski below along with Gatlin, one of my fave tracks atm, wheel it up!). Tears is out the 16th on DL Records with all them remixes. Tinie also does an awesome job on his remix of Taio Cruz’s latest hit Like A Star, personally I think it’s way better than the original.

_080902: Connection Kimberly

After the whole bruha of Kimmie’s performance at the Way Out West-festival I’m glad to hear some positive things. First, the title of her upcoming album is decided and it will be called "Vintage". Why use that old tardy fashionista term u might ask? Well, the case is that the album will be what "Notorious Kim" would have been if it was released today. Vintage, but still renewed and way better. Sounds promising as well as these new leaks.

First one interesting and wonderful collabo with Mavado and Wyclef Jean, probably from the upcoming album. Second, the Get Up On It from British native Mams Taylor which has Lil’ Jon on the buttons with them synths we recognize and love from Yeah!. LOVE that one! Kimberly recentley performed at Young Jeezy's album release party and also makes the Put On Freestyle bearable as she jumps in the middle of Jeezy and Yeezy’s lines. Just keep it coming Kim!

Speaking of Notorious for that matter (can’t wait for the movie to drop), as Gossip Girl started the its 2nd season yesterday I might as well spill some juice even if that’s not my style (even if I got so many secrets piled up in me...). The trash comes from Faith Evan’s as an excerpt has been leaked from her forthcoming book "Keep the Faith" regarding the whole buiz between her, BIG and Kimme, here’s Faith’s side of the case:

Even before we moved to Brooklyn, I noticed that Big was kind of rough and abrasive toward Kim. I once heard him screaming on her at his mother's house although I had no idea why.

"You think you special? he screamed. "I'll go get Inga right now." While Kim cried, Big kept yelling at her. "We don't need you for this group. Inga would be happy to be down." (The "Inga" he was referring to was a sixteen year old rapper named Foxy Brown who would go on to be Kim's nemesis)

"You ain't special," He said. "I will replace your ass with the quickness. Don't forget that shit."

I think seeing the way they talked to her and about her made me dismiss her. I usually have Spider-Man senses when it comes to other women. But with Kim, there was nothing."

I remember going to a hotel room in Manhattan where Big was staying. And when I got there, Kim was on her way out. She ended up hanging around for a bit longer and getting a ride back to Brooklyn with me.

"I know you're Big's wife," she said, as I drove us over the Brooklyn Bridge. "We're more like brother and sister."

I just nodded. My Lil' Kim bullshit detector was still set on off. […]

I don’t know what got into my head. But I decided that I needed to know once and for all what Big was really trying to do. On that night before Christmas, I drove to Big’s house on a mission to find out where I really stood.

The security guard at the gate just waved me in when I pulled up. It was Christmas Eve and she’d seen me come into the complex with the kids, so I guess she didn’t think anything of it. I parked in the rear of Big’s town house and walked up to the garage. It was locked. I hadn’t been over to Big’s house a whole lot but I did know that you jiggle the garage door a certain way and unlock it.

I got into the garage, where there was an elevator that would take me to both floors of Big’s duplex. There I was, rocking a black skully cap and a heavy goose-down jacket, tiptoeing into the elevator and pressing the button to go up to the second floor, where his bedroom was located. I got to Big’s bedroom door, turned the knob, and went inside. As soon as I saw a small lump next to Big’s large frame, I flew into a rage, ran over to the side of the bed, and pulled back the covers. I grabbed some chick our of the bed and started beating her ass. At some point, the chick’s wig came off in my hand; It was a short, cropped wig. I stopped throwing punches for a minute to get a good look at the chick I was beating up. It was Lil Kim. She was completely butt-naked, yelling as I pushed her around the room.

“So you not fucking her, right?” I screamed at Big. “Yeah, you not messing with her anymore, right?”

When they heard all the commotion, Cease, D-Roc, and Gutter came running into the room. ‘Oh shit!” they yelled in unison. “It’s Faye! How the hell she get in here?”

Big sat up in bed and pointed at Kim, who was standing in a corner of the room, trying to cover her naked body with her hands while I was still yelling at Big. “Yo, get her outta here,’ Big said. They led Kim out of the room and she screamed and cursed the whole way.

It was absolutely crazy in that house. Kim was naked and being led somewhere to get dressed. I was still screaming on Big. Damion, Cease, and Gutter were laughing in amazement that I would be so bold. And Big looked like he was just too through with all of us. He sat up in bed shaking his head. Kim left the house and I stayed, talking to Big about why he couldn’t be honest with me about her.

‘I thought it was all about Tiffany?” I asked. You still messing with Kim, too?” Big had nothing to say. I have to say I actually felt some pity for Kim. Big had a wife, and she settled for messing with him. Then he started dating Tiffany and Big had a wife and a mistress. And Kim still settled for being other other woman. It seemed pretty sad to settle for that.

When I left a few hours later to get the kids, I noticed that Kim had taken my key to my Land Cruiser and scratched up my entire car, from the hood to the back bumper. Even though we ended up having sex that day at that point I decided I was 100 percent through. I was not going to be a ride or die chick, always going to lengths to show Big how I felt. I was the mother of his child and his wife. But I was going to have to let go".

Absolutely love autobiographies, esp the tell-all-kind so I’m definitely gonna read this one. I’m not into fiction or novels, I like real life stories and technical (specialist) literature. Guess it’s damage from my time at Uni as I never had the time to read 'proper' books reading course litterateur like 8 hours a day.

_080901: Tensta Stay The Night

Let's start off this new month with a fucking bomb! I know, I’m quite bad at writing about music that origins from Sweden, guess its cause the grass always seems greener everywhere else and I barley listen to Swedish music at all for that matter. But the Swedish electro queen Sophie Rimheden is one of a few exceptions. She recently released a new single featuring one of my other exceptions; Adam Tensta from her album "Traveller". The single is called Stay The Night and is out now on North of No South (NONS) Records in a HUGE pack with 10 tracks, loads of nyce remixes on that one so to speak. Like from Swedish electro wizards such as Stefan Aronsson, Jonas Avertoft and Howard Who and the Armageddon Turk mix from Turkey. Cop it over here.

Here’s Rimheden’s own remix of the track featuring a solid beatbox from my good friend Chris Kanaki (whom u might remember from their former collabo project called iSH and Kanaki’s remix version of Maskinen’s Alla Som Inte Bouncar). And with the risk of sounding like a certain famous commercial jingle I must say, ba ba ba pa ba I’m LOVING it.
